  • Is there any significance to the order of the books of the New Testament?  They seem to be grouped by their "type" - first the Gospels, then Acts, then St. Paul's Epistles, then the other Epistles, then Apocalypse.  Other than this topical organization, is there any other reason for their order?

  • The gospels are arranged in the order in which they were written, then comes the Acts of the Apostles.  Thus, the historical books appear first.

    As for the rest of the New Testament, I have never read that there is any particular reason for the order in which they appear.
