  •  If The Trinity were not such a mystery....
And The Faith wouldn't require such great sacrifices....
    Many Many would believe....

God knew that by revealing His dogmas many would be lost, still He revealed them...
Now I want to cry because I always fail to explain the faith to those who are eager to know about it.

  • You have a very good heart and a devout mind. The best arguments whereby to convince our errant neighbors of the veracity of our holy Faith is our own example. Our very selves ought to be the refutation of the errors we wish to confute. We need not be theologians in order to do this, yet we must endeavor to learn the truths of the holy Faith as best as we can, and practice what we confess to be true.

    Maybe this can help you.

From the book Kyrie Eleison: Two Hundred Litanies with Historico-Liturgical Introduction and Notes by Rev. Fr. Benjamin Francis Musser, O.F.M. (Westminster, MD: The Newman Bookshop, 1944).

Please ignore all that I have written regarding sedevacantism.

  • Spouse- share away. I always see you on here, and its nice. I'm sure your spiritual life is a difficult one given your geographical location and surroundings. Have faith! For the past year, I've sort of meditated on the fact of why it is that some are blessed with the True Faith, and why some reject it. It is something which I will never fully understand unless our Lord decides to reveal it to me in this life or the next. Why have I been given Grace, and others not? Why have I accepted it, and others not? Its a mystery, to say the least. I guess I'm saying, rejoice in the fact that you hold the Truth, hang on to it, pray for the graces, as my good friend Hobble said, "to practice what we confess to be true."

Here's a verse in the bible I find quite beautiful, and just read the other day. It's been in my head since I've read it. Its so powerful. And when I meditate on the fact that Jesus Christ, our GOD, said these words, in those times, and really think about it- I am utterly and beautifully flabbergasted. This Man was God.

    Matthew Chapter 16:
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples: *If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

25 *For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it: and he that shall lose his life for my sake, shall find it.

26 For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father, with his angels: *and then will he render to every man according to his works.

28 Amen, I say to you, *there are some of them standing here, who shall not taste death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

I don't know that this helps you in any way. Its okay to be sorry for souls who haven't come to Christ and his Church I think. But remember, God wants us to be happy not sad. Maybe meditating on him may do you some cheering up and get you back into the fight my dear. Its not an easy one, but its worth it!

  • The Faith sometimes requires great sacrifices -- and it is worth it. Anything of value is worth sacrificing for.

And leading others to the Faith requires sacrifices and prayers to make our words sink deeply into the person's soul and bear fruit.

The saints were often sad to think of sinners falling into hell, which motivated them to engage in serious penances and prayers for them. They would earnestly ask Jesus for the grace of conversion for this or that soul during their Holy Communions, etc.

If you are troubled by the thought of poor sinners without the Faith going into hell -- you're in good company. Most saints felt this.

I almost always feel like adding Hobble's posted prayers to my daily prayers.  Pretty soon I am going to have to become a hermit to have the time.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

It is even more mysterious if we consider the fact that many times faith begins with quite unworthy motives. A wide-eyed curious teenager interested in collecting Madonna and Child picture usually makes his/her to the church, while the elderly professor who boasts of "having studied christianity and other world religions for 30 years." ends in paranoia and self-righteousness.

No Myrna, thank you for vouchsafing me the opportunity to help a handmaiden of the Lord.

Here is another litany I think you would like from the book Kyrie Eleison: Two Hundred Litanies with Historico-Liturgical Introduction and Notes by Rev. Fr. Benjamin Francis Musser, O.F.M. (Westminster, MD: The Newman Bookshop, 1944).
