Matthew, how did you find out? Any chance of more info on what happened?
A member wrote in, with the link I posted. That's it.
BTW -- when someone dies, or some other bad thing happens, and a CathInfo member brings it to your attention, you should not SHOOT THE MESSENGER.
Someone downvoted my post! I'm not one for complaining about every little downvote. But I suspect someone doesn't understand what upvote/downvote is for.
Would you rather NOT know when someone you know and care about has passed away? If so, maybe the downvote was justified.
An upvote for a post announcing someone's death does NOT mean "Yay! I'm glad he's dead!" Rather, it means, "Thank you for letting me know. I'm glad you let me know; now I can pray for him."And a downvote doesn't mean, "Booo! I'm not happy at all that he's dead! In fact, I'm quite sad!"
A downvote means, "Hey buddy, next time the chance comes up, how about you DON'T post something like this, mmmkay?" and it slightly dings the poster's reputation. Why ding the reputation of an innocent poster who did nothing wrong, other than inform you about some bad news? That's not a legit way to show grief, or love for the deceased. That's just being a jerk.
So next time I find out a CathInfo member has died, I should keep it to myself and not let anyone know?
Just curious what the anonymous downvoter was thinking here.
