Takes a lot of class to downvote my post above.
I agree. I don't care what one's "problem" is; downvoting a pious request to pray for the deceased shows that one is a sorry, sad excuse for a Catholic and I wish that every such person would see how outnumbered they are, get "disgusted" with CathInfo, and leave. They'd make the forum a better place by doing so.
After all, we follow Jesus Christ. We would imitate Him. God is love, specifically the God-like love we call CHARITY. I see the opposite of Charity evidenced in such downvoting.
Some people just have very low self-awareness when it comes to their spiritual state -- the state of their soul -- the state of their soul before God.
But by all means, please Mr. Downvoter, please tell us why we shouldn't pray for "Father Joseph Collins". I have no idea who he is, but he has an immortal soul and was apparently a priest of God. He is not a devil, and thus it is pious and good to wish and pray for his salvation. Catholics generally are to assume that a given departed soul is in Purgatory and pray for him accordingly.
