Matthew, a sub forum for deceased CI members

  • Recently we've been informed about the deaths of our fellow members Donkath, Kathleen Donelly and Matto, Matthew O"Hare.  Please God don't let there be more, but as it may happen, I was wondering if it might not be nice to have a tribute sub forum where their forum name, signature line and obituary might be posted.  No comments and only the moderator could post.
Members might like to pray for them on their anniversary date etc.
    Thoughts?

  • Not a subforum, but a sticky (maybe in the prayer requests subforum) is a good idea.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

Thanks for the correction, I'm lost when it comes to the proper computer terms.

  • How about lining-up some priests to do (1) Requiem Mass per departed member and fund a small kitty for Mass stipends?

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • Lovely idea. Hopefully they will be few and very far between.

  • Right now, there are only 2. If there becomes a real epidemic of CathInfo deaths, maybe a subforum would be called for. I think right now the current bag of tools does the job -- start a thread in The Sacred/Prayer Requests, have everyone discuss/chime in/say a few words, and when that ends naturally, the thread scrolls off like every other thread.

At this time, a thread with 2 posts in it for "deceased CathInfo members" would seem to be overkill.

I'm not vehemently against the idea or anything -- I just don't see the need at this time.
