Mystic of the Holy Catholic Church

 

Profile

    Marie-Julie Jahenny, the mystic and Stigmatist of La Fraudais and perhaps the greatest mystic in the history of the Church, was born on the 12th of February, 1850, in a little village in Brittany (in the West of France), called Blain. The eldest of five children, she was brought up by her simple, good parents in that lively faith for which Bretons are renowned. Our Lord favored her with many graces from the time of her First Holy Communion, graces to which she corresponded with ever increasing devotion. She joined the Franciscan Third Order when in her early twenties, to help to sanctify herself in the world.

    In 1873, she received from Heaven that most remarkable mystic gift, the Stigmata. From the age of twenty-three until her death, some sixty years later, she bore in her body the Wounds of Our Lord to a more visible degree than had any other stigmatist in the Church's history. In addition to the Five Wounds of the Sacred Hands, Feet and Side, Marie-Julie suffered the Wounds inflicted by the Crown of Thorns and the Cross on Our Lord's Sacred Head and Shoulder respectively, the Wounds of His Scourging, those caused by the ropes with which He was bound, as well as other Wounds of a more mystical nature.

    Henceforth, Marie-Julie lived her life of coredemptive suffering (as a victim soul) in a little cottage in the hamlet of La Fraudais, near Blain. She thus fulfilled Our Blessed Lord's desire for her to make reparation for the sins of France and the world. She was favored with frequent visions of Jesus and Mary, as well as many prophetic lights.

    The truth of the Heavenly warnings of which she was to be the humble messenger was vindicated by her characteristic simplicity and honesty, her exemplary obedience to her spiritual directors and her Bishop, and of course, by the fulfillment of all she prophesied during her long life. With unfailing accuracy she foretold the two World Wars, the election of Pope Saint Pius X, the various persecutions of the Church, the chastisements and the fate of apostate France. Much remains to unfold. Her warnings for the Last Times should be read by all "who have ears."

    She had the marvelous gift recognizing Eucharistic bread from ordinary bread, objects that were blessed and those that were not ; relics and to say where they came from, and finally to understand in several language hymns and liturgical prayers. During a five year period from December 28, 1875 she survived only on Holy Communion. As Dr. Imbert-Gourbeyre recorded, during this whole period, there were no liquid or solid excretions. She was completely insensitive to pain or intense light during her ecstasies. Some of these ecstasies were accompanied by levitation; at that moment she was ecstatically light.

    Marie-Julie was the wonder of the many scientists who examined her continually, the scorn of unbelievers and the proud, the admiration of her lifelong friend, Monsignor Fourier, Bishop of Nantes, and of the devoted circle of those who made the diffusion of her messages to an ungrateful and unheeding world their life's work. She went to her Heavenly reward on March 4, 1941.

    Blind, deaf, dumb and crippled, she had subsisted miraculously on the Blessed Sacrament alone, for the last many years of her life. Surely then, we will not pass over lightly what God has confided to her for the benefit of our own sad days.

Prophecies

She had a vision of a dialogue between Our Lord and Lucifer and the latter said :
"I will attack the Church. I will overthrow the Cross, I will decimate the people, I will deposit a great weakness of Faith in hearts. There will also be A GREAT DENIAL OF RELIGION. For a time I will be MASTER of all things, everything will be under MY CONTROL, even Your temple and all Your people."
"Saint Michael says that Satan will have possession of everything for some time and that he will reign completely over everything ; that all goodness, Faith, Religion will be buried in the tomb. . . Satan and his own will triumph with joy, but after this triumph, the Lord will in His turn gather His own people and will REIGN and TRIUMPH OVER EVIL and WILL RAISE UP from the tomb the buried Church, the prostrated Cross. . . "
Marie-Julie saw that "there will not remain any vestige of the Holy Sacrifice, no apparent trace of faith. CONFUSION will be everywhere..."


"All the works approved by the infallible Church will cease to exist as they are today for a time. In this sorrowful annihilation, brilliant signs will be manifested on earth. If because of the wickedness of men Holy Church will be in darkness, the Lord will also send darkness that will stop the wicked in their search of wickedness. . . "
On November 27, 1902 and May 10, 1904, Our Lord and Our Lady announced the conspiracy to invent the "New Mass":
«I give you a WARNING. The disciples who are not of My Gospel are now working hard to remake according to their ideas and under the influence of the enemy of souls a MASS that contains words that are ODIOUS in My sight.»
«When the fatal hour arrives when the faith of my priests is put to the test, it will be (these texts) that will be celebrated in this SECOND period... The FIRST period is (the one) of my priesthood which exists since Me. The SECOND is (the one) of the persecution when the ENEMIES of the Faith and of Holy Religion (will impose their formulas) in the book of the second celebration.. These infamous spirits are those who crucified me and are awaiting the kingdom of THE NEW MESSIAH.»



Marie-Julie Jahenny (June 1881).
"In their [priests] aberration, they will break their oaths. The Book of Life contains a list of names that ‘rends the heart.’
"Because of the little respect it has for the apostles of God, the flock grows careless and ceases to observe the laws. The priest himself is responsible for the lack of respect because he does not respect enough his holy ministry, and the place which he occupies in his sacred functions. The flock follows in the footsteps of its pastors; this is a great tragedy.
"The clergy will be severely punished on account of their inconceivable fickleness and great cowardice which is incompatible with their functions.
"A terrible chastisement has been provided for those who ascend every morning the steps of the Holy Sacrifice. I have not come on your altars to be tortured. I suffer a hundredfold more from such hearts than any of the others. I absolve you from your great sins, My children, but I cannot grant any pardon to these priests."

She [Marie-Julie Jahenny] says that "those who govern the Flock", will be responsible for the coming crisis. Apparently, Communism would not have triumphed if the Church had remained faithful. She mentions the growing freedom enjoyed by priests and bishops and how badly they will use it.

She mentions a pope who, at the last moment, will reverse his policies and make a solemn appeal to the Clergy.
But he will not be obeyed; on the contrary, an Assembly of bishops will demand even greater freedom, declaring that they will no longer obey the Pope.

Marie-Julie then goes on to say that the Red Revolution will then break out. She speaks of a "horrible religion" which is to replace the Catholic Faith, and she sees "many, many bishops" embracing this "sacrilegious, infamous religion."
 



Marie-Julies's prophecies concerning the new liturgy:
On November 27, 1902 (Ed. note: The seventy-second anniversary of the Miraculous Medal Apparition [November 27, 1830]) and on May 10, 1904, Our Lord warned of the new liturgy which would one day be instituted:
"I give you a warning. The disciples who are not of My Gospel are now working hard to remake according to their ideas, and under the influence of the enemy of souls, a Mass that contains words which are odious in My Sight. When the fatal hour arrives where the faith of my priest is put to the test, it will be these texts that will be celebrated, in this second period."


"The first period is the one of My Priesthood, existing since Me. The second is the one of the persecution, when the enemies of the Faith and of Holy Religion will impose their formulas in the book of the second celebration. Many of My holy priests will refuse this book, sealed with the words of the abyss. Unfortunately, amongst them are those who will accept it."

On May 10, 1904, Our Lady describes the new clergy and its liturgy:
"They will not stop on this hateful and sacrilegious road. They will go further to compromise all at once, and in one blow, the Holy Church, the clergy, and the Faith of my children."
She announces the "dispersion of the pastors" by the Church herself; true pastors, who will be replaced by others formed by Hell: "...new preachers of new sacraments, new temples, new baptisms, new confraternities."
 



July 7 1880 Jesus tell Mary - Julie: «the church will be deprived of his supreme chief that now the guidance (...) The Chief of the Church will be offended outrageously».
«In the ecstasy of November 4, 1880 Mary - Julie describes us the martyrdom of the pope: «The voice of the Church, under a veiled sigh, comes to make doors broken of my soul the echo of his dying voice sound. The supreme Pontiff launches an agonizing speech toward his people, toward children of which he is the Father. It is a sword for my soul... I see of white birds to carry away in their beak his blood and of shreds of his flesh. I see the hand of Peter breakthrough by the nail as the one of GOD. I see his clothes of ceremony pulled in shreds, clothes of which he dresses his dignity to make take down GOD on the altar. I see all it in my sun. Oh !  that I suffer ! »

Three Days of Darkness

The Three Days of Darkness has been prophesized by many Saints including, Padre Pio. Marie Julie Jahenny is just one of many holy people that have walked this earth and have warned us of the coming chastisement.

Marie-Julie announced the three days of darkness during which the infernal powers will be loosed and will execute all the enemies of God. "The crisis will explode suddenly; the punishments will be shared by all and will succeed one another without interruption... "( January 4, 1884).


"The three days of darkness « will be on a THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. Days of the Most Holy Sacrament, of the Cross and Our Lady. . . .» three days less one night."


"«The earth will be covered in darkness», says Our Lady on 20th of September 1882, AND HELL WILL BE LOOSED ON EARTH. Thunder and lightning will cause those who have no faith or trust in My Power, to die of fear."


"During these three days of terrifying darkness, no windows must be opened, because no one will be able to see the earth and the terrible color it will have in those days of punishment without dying at once... "


"The sky will be on fire, the earth will split... During these three days of darkness let the blessed candle be lighted everywhere, no other light will shine.... "


"NO ONE OUTSIDE A SHELTER.. will survive. The earth will shake as at the judgement and fear will be great. Yes, We will listen to the prayers of your friends ; NOT ONE WILL PERISH. We will need them to publish the glory of the Cross.... "(8th of December 1882).


" THE CANDLES OF BLESSED WAX ALONE WILL GIVE LIGHT during this horrible darkness. ONE CANDLE alone will be enough for the duration of this night of hell... In the homes of the wicked and blasphemers these candles will give NO LIGHT."


"And Our Lady states : « Everything will shake except the piece of furniture on which the blessed candle is burning. This will not shake. You will all gather around with the crucifix and my blessed picture. This is what will keep away this terror »"


"During this darkness the devils and the wicked will take on THE MOST HIDEOUS SHAPES... red clouds like blood will move across the sky. The crash of the thunder will shake the earth and sinister lightning will streak the heavens out of season. The earth will be shaken to its foundations. The sea will rise, its roaring waves will spread over the continent..."

A great mystic.

She lived only from the Holy Communion in her last decades of life.

I am surprised they didn't include anything about the Great Monarch and the suffering Pope living in a cave.  She had extensive and detailed visions about the former.

Reading Anna Maria Taigi is incredibly sobering.  What a miracle to be able have such a resource at the push of a button.

 

I think what's most important when it comes to Catholic mystics and their prophecies is that it should be something read with interest, yes, but also with caution; or, more correctly, should be done with the proper mind and heart.

In developing our spiritual life should its good to be aware of these things, but not overly so. Some people, and I have done this, can easily get caught up in things of this nature- which prophecy is only one aspect of, but there are other things like religious politicking, being on the up and up of what's going on with fellow priests, seminarians and chapels, for example- and completely forget about what's most important, which is our relationship with Jesus Christ and his Blessed Mother. When we have obtained this, we realize that the prophecy is not an end, but can easily made out to be one.

Being consumed even with religious topics but forgetting to concentrate on the interior life, is not a good thing- which almost sounds contradictory at first. But its not. Could the devil not use good for evil? Has he not done this with Priests and much of whats supposed to be the Church? The key to understanding all things is being firmly rooted in our Lord Christ, and devotion to his Blessed Mother first. But that is hard. It takes prayer, which is difficult to learn to do, and even more difficult to do well and with patience.

I like the prophecies of  Marie-Julie Jahenny and Yves Dupont. I trust their accuracy and think the comments by "DJR" are rather weak, and thank you ROV for the link, but I hope someone with expertise will take the time to refute them with the sources he hopes for.

s2srea, I happen to agree with you entirely.  It is far more important to develop our spiritual life and to stive be become more holy than to get all caught up in mystical prophecies.  

I just happened to be reading about Marie-Julie Jahenny and her prophecies and wondered if the Church ever gave approval (to her sanctity yes) to these predictions?  I find it hard to believe that God would allow a Mass that would be displeasing to Him and injurious to the faith.  We must remember that God promised that the gates of hell will never prevail.  Also, the Council Fathers of Vatican II never called for all the abuses and novelties that have happened.  I've actually seen videos of what Paul VI had envisioned for the Mass and it was very reverent and not much different than the TLM.  I believe what I saw was the Mass using the rubics proposed originally in the Missal of 1965.  If only that had stuck to the 1965 changes without omitting the Leonine Prayers instead of what eventually came to pass in 1969.  Perhaps is they had done so, the Church wouldn't be in such a mess.  There is a section in this book that touches on receiving Communion that author implys is a horrible novelity.  From my understanding, it was debated at the Council of Trent whether to allow Communion under both species, so this is a bit a a non-issue, IMHO.

This is what Marie-Julies prophecies about the New Mass and the state of the priesthood.  I've taken these quotes directly from the book "We Are Warned".  It sounds like the problem is not so much the New Mass, but rather the poor quality of the priesthood.  I might add too that we Catholics are to blame to a certain extent because we have not done our part either.

Our Lord describes how Lucifer will proceed. He (Satan) will address priests: "You " will dress in a large red cloak...We (devils) will give you a piece of bread and a few drops of water. You can do everything tha t you did when you belonged to Christ....""But," says Our Lord, "they do not add, Consecration and Communion."And Hell added: "We will permit you to say it in all houses and even under the firmament."

Signs to watch for: the "vestments become a red cloak. The wine is removed from the sacrifice of the Mass, perhaps only the server/minister is allowed to receive the 'piece of bread'. Our Lord says that a service of this type will not be a valid consecration. They will be able to celebrate this 'service' everywhere, out in the open, outside consecrated buildings, and 'in all houses'. "All houses" could mean in the homes of people, or, all houses of worship no matter what the denomination, i.e., an ecuмenical-based service that is 'watered down' so it is made acceptable to everyone and can be celebrated by all Christians. We must be wary of all forms of worship that do not follow the norms of the Holy Catholic Church and try to 'come down' to the level of other denominations.

We must remember there is only One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Faith, an no service however 'nice' and 'charitable' to other Christians can ever be compared to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The Mass is not a symbol! It is a true sacrifice where the Passion and Death of Christ takes place in an unbloody manner.)

"The Church will be deprived of its Leader who governs now. The remains of this present holy Pontiff have to disappear. The imprint of his feet at the holy altar will be reduced to ashes by the flames of hell. The head of the Church will be outrageously outraged!"

(My personal observations: Pope Leo XIII was pontiff at the time of this ecstasy / prophecy:this could be a prediction that the Church shall be deprived of all his holy reforms and the teaching she set forth. It was he who had the famous vision of Satan confronting Our Lord, declaring that he could destroy the whole Church if he were granted time to do it. Our Lord agreed to the test and granted Satan up to a century, although the pope was not told which century Satan would be let loose to do his worst. It is said he also saw a terrible battle between St. Michael and the demons.As a result, he composed the prayer to St. Michael in addition to other prayers that he ordered to be said at the foot of the altar after every Mass for the protection of the Church, i.e, the Three Hails Mary's, The Salve Regina, and the prayer beginning with “O God, our refuge and our strength, Look down in mercy to Thy people who cry to Thee, etc....”.

Compare this with what Marie-Julie says:

“The imprint of his feet at the holy altar (Pope Leo XIII) will be reduced to ashes by the flames of hell.” Of interest, it was revealed to St. Catherine Emmerich that Satan would be let loose 60 or 40 years before the year 2000, and would be granted a considerable time before that to prepare his onslaught. A rather interesting timeline, considering the confusion that has been unleashed with the various misinterpretations of Vatican II. Other holy practices and devotions were also brought in by Pope Leo XIII to combat Satan,such as the minor exorcism that everyone was permitted to say. Today, so few people pray it for protection. In fact, even the rite of the Major Exorcism of the Roman Rite that has been used for centuries was altered in 1999, and exorcists in Rome are complaining the new format is not as effective in dispelling demons as the old rite. As we have seen in an earlier prophecy with Marie-Julie, Satan wants to alter all the rites in the Church, water them down, or remove them entirely.)

Warnings of a physical persecution of the Church in France and the Vatican.

August 10, 1880

"If the prisoner Martyr (the Angelic Pontiff to come?) calls by the voices of his friends and supporters, it will be forbidden, on pain of death,for any of this kingdom not to fly to his call ...The Lord Himself will suffer a second Passion. But this second passion – as there can be only one for Him - it will be a passion for them that replace Him (i.e. stand in His place) and represent Him. For the souls He leaves to be done, what before, was done for Him; it will be a passion for those who command a worthy authority .., for those who come after the Victim shackled in the chains of Peter, martyr for the cause of the Lord. (i.e., Cardinals, Bishops).All authorities will have to undergo this Passion in their paternal seats. They will have to flee to escape the pursuit, fierce prosecutions. The Church must see its Head under vengeful hatred.The temple of God is to be deserted. In the beginning the Lord's ministers may, despite the threats, obey the laws of their sacred ministry. It will be by force that they will be dragged out of the Temple. Then the order will come to flee quickly.

The vengeance of hell will raise to the altars of the most infamous of all men (those possessed). They will take the place of the true servants of the Lord.

Everything will be against the Faith and against the holy laws in their sacred ceremonies.

These sacrileges will last 44 days.

Suddenly Hell will roar. This cry will never cease. The ministers of my Son will be sent back to their homes and scattered among the people. When the hand of the perfidious man will arise for the third time on the houses of grace which, by their prayers, have held back the wrath of my divine Son, when that hand will and for the third time, it will go through, without exception of any person, not even the families who stay at home, in prayer. Their homes will be tainted by the entry of formidable men.

My children, pray for the Church, pray for all your ministers, pray for the Pope, for they will make an attempt(on his life) in his days. This place is also riddled with vengeance, and evil will be immeasurable, despite the faith of many of my people.

January 11, 1881

Our Lord:

"Woe to the priest who does not reflect on the enormous responsibility which he will have to give back to Me. And the pastors of the Church (bishops) what will they do for the faith? The great number are ready to give their faith to save their bodies....The suffering they cause (the Church) will never be repaired. In a short time the pastors of the Church will have spread scandals everywhere and will have given the last sword thrust to Holy Church."

"The Church will no longer have its voice, that, still today, speaks highly, (or loudly). The Bond of the Faith (the Pope) will drink soon in exile, the bitterness of a long and painful martyrdom. His heart, filled with anguish, will not live as one might say any more in his person, but it will provide everything for his children, for his flock and for the infallible Church.

(A prediction cornering a pope and how his voice will be ignored, his heart will become sorrowful to the point of death? This possibly refers to the Angelic Pontiff that will reign circa the same time as the promised Great Monach.)

January 25, 1881

"The poor Eternal City (Rome) will be delivered after three and a half years, (from?) constant terror.

June 9, 1881

Our Lord:

"I am inconsolable, I see running there, to escape from death and rouse themselves from imposed suffering, multitudes of Christians.  (i.e., Christians no longer want to do penance, they avoid all prescribed penances of the Church for a religion that is all  'happy' and does not reflect on serious issues of the soul.)  I see them embrace the religion of a merry heart, without thinking about Me, on the Church, of their baptism and all that is good for the Christian soul....by manifesting these signs to My people (i.e., the warning), I want to bring back My people, before the punishment, because it, Islam, refutes the Godhead of Jesus Christ), there I see Bishops entering.  By seeing these Bishops, many, so many, and in their suite all their flock, and without hesitation rush into damnation and Hell, My Heart is wounded to death, as at the time of My Passion.  I am going to become an object of horror for the most part of My people.  (i.e., His pure, suffering life will become an object of horror.)  All youth will be spoiled and soon will fall in a putrefaction the smell of which will be unbearable."

July 21, 1881

Churches will be Abandoned - The "New Mass" Not pleasing to God?  "The Sacrifice will take an Infernal form."

"The Church will suffer from the most cruel persecutions which hell has ever invented.  (Hell will soon unleash the most cruelest persecutions against the Church the like of which has never been seen before.)  "Soon, in large parts of this land of the dead, there will be no more sanctuaries.  The apostles will have fled.  The holy souls weep over the ruins and abandonment;  See how much they insult Me and how much they offend Me......There will be relentless hellish (attacks) against devotion to the Sacred Heart."

"There will be a book of the 'second celebration' by the infamous spirits who have crucified Me anew and who await the reign of a new Messiah to make them happy.  Many holy priests will refuse this book sealed with the words of the abyss, but unfortunately there are those will accept it, and it will be used."

"The Bishops betray.  They will give their strength and their life to the fatal government."

"In the streets, incites, in the countryside and in all villages, the infectious poison of those cursed books will spread  with a rapidity hotter than the sun's path, from sunrise to sunset."

Marie-Julie asks the Flame of the Holy Spirit if the epoch is fixed, where Satan must reign as such a great master. The Flame says that it is set in the designs of God and the Devil hastens the time, without knowing (it) exactly.

"It is this (age) in which you are now, God's children,"  said the Flame.

“I will overthrow the temple of your prayers,”Satan claims, “I will establish the idols we worship. All that is, in times of peace, that resides in Your temples will be broken, dragged out, reduced to dust by mine.”

Our Lord:

"The suppression of the ringing of bells and of religious funerals will be demanded ...

They will erase all memory of the first religion and they will instruct in an impious religion …”

Satan, cursed before the Lord and he swore (with) a great hatred that was ever so infernal. Saint Michael said that Satan was vomiting his rage before Our Lord, saying:
 
“I will attack the Church, I will throw down the Cross, I will divide (or cause division among)the people, I will deposit in hearts a major weakening of the faith and there will be a great betrayal.” He finally said to the Lord

“I will become for some time, the Supreme Master of all things, I will have everything under my empire, even Your temple and (all of) Yours entirely.”

November 27, 1901

"I give you a warning even today. The disciples who are not of My Holy Gospel are now in a great work of the mind to form as the second FACSIMILES when they will make to their idea and under the influence of the enemy of souls, a Mass that contains words odious in My sight. When the fatal hour arrives when they will put to the test the Faith of My eternal priesthood, it is these sheets that they will give to celebrate in this last period. The first period, it is that of My priesthood which exists since (or after) Me. The second, is the period of persecution when the enemies of the Faith and of Holy Religion have formulated - and they are strongly enforced - these sheets as the book of the second celebration, these infamous spirits (or, infamous minds) are those who crucified Me and who are waiting for the reign of the new Messiah to make them happy.

"Many of My holy priests will refuse this book sealed with the words of the abyss. Unfortunately, (they) will be the exception, it will be used."
 
My personal observations:  Many believe this is a prediction of the "Ordinary" Vernacular Mass instituted under Pope Paul VI in the 1960s.

Our Lord declares those who institute this "facsimile" of a Mass, the "second book", will be of the same spirit and mind of those who crucified Him, i.e., they will be like the unfaithful Jєωs and Pharisees in the Temple who had Satan for their father, and ignored Our Lord's Gospel, desiring a Messiah according to their own wishes and not as God had promised.

In the New Ordinary Mass, many beautiful prayers had been eliminated and the Offertory prayers added:  the author of "The Breton Stigmatist" has noted of these new Offertory prayers may be the words that are  "odious" to Our Lord, for they are very similar to words used in a Jєωιѕн rite dating from the 1600s and based on Cabala, Jєωιѕн occult mysticism.  He writes:

"Jean Bustorf, in his "Synagoga Judaica", the 1661 edition, page 242, gives the following words:

For the Bread: 'Benedictue Tu, Domine Deus noster, mundi domine qui panem nobis a terra produxisti.'  (Blessed art Thou, Lord our God, lord of the world who brought forth bread from the earth.)

For the wine:  'Benedictus Tu, Domine Deus noster, mundi domine qui vineae fructum creaveris.'  (Blessed are Thou, Lord Our God, lord of the world who created the true fruit of the vine.)

 
The first changes to the Mass came into effect March 7, 1965:  use of the vernacular was permitted; the priest was allowed to face towards the congregation, if he wished, throughout Mass: there were some textual changes, such as omission of the Psalm Judica at the beginning, and of the Last Gospel and Leonine Prayers at the end.  Already, it was predicted to Marie-Julie that Pope Leo's 'footsteps' would be effaced from the altar, i.e. The Leonine prayers said at the end of Mass for the protection of the Church?
 
The second changes to the Mass came into effect with the 1967 docuмent "Tres abhine annos", the second instruction on the implementation of the Council's Constitution on the Liturgy, made changes to the text, and simplified the rubrics and the vestments.  Concelebration and Communion under both kinds had meanwhile been permitted.  
 
By October 1967, the Consilium had produced a complete draft revision of the liturgy, and this revision was presented to the Synod of Bishops that met in Rome in that month.  The bishops attended the first public celebration of the revised rite in the Sistine Chapel.  When asked to vote on the new liturgy, 71 bishops voted placet (approved), 43 voted non placet (not approved) and 62 voted placet iuxta modum (approved with reservations).  In response to the bishops' concerns, some changes were made to the text.
 
It is interesting to note their concerns listed against the New Mass at that time:
 
On 25 September 1969, two retired cardinals, 79-year-old Alfredo Ottaviani and 84-year-old Antonio Bacci, wrote a letter with which they sent Pope Paul VI, the text, "Short Critical Study on the New Order of Mass", which had been prepared the previous June by a group of twelve theologians under the direction of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.  The cardinals warned the New Ordinary of the Mass "represented", both as a whole and in its details, a striking departure from the Catholic theology of the Mass as it was formulated in Session XXII of the Council of Trent."  The study that they presented declared that on many points the New Mass had "much to gladden the heart of even the most modernist Protestant."  Paul VI asked the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the department of the Roman Curia that Ottaviani had earlier headed, to examine the "Short Critical Study"."  The Congregation responded on 12 November 1969, saying that the docuмent contained many affirmations that were "superficial, exaggerated, inexact, emotional and false".  However, some of its observations were taken into account in preparing the definitive version of the new Ordinary of the Mass.
 
So, those who attempt to point out the dangers of the Ordinary Mass will be seen as "superficial, exaggerated, inexact, emotional and false." while here, Our Lord expressly tells Marie-Julie this Mass was written by disobedient sons under the influence of Satan and that it contains words "odious" in His sight!
 
The Lord permits the New Mass, but apparently, we are being put to the test.  What can we do?  Fine a Latin Tridentine Mass permitted by your local bishop and attend that whenever possible rather than a Mass that offends Our Lord.  (pages 353 - 3540)

Our Lady: "They will not stop at this hateful and sacrilegious road.  They will go further to compromise all at once and in one go, the Holy Church, the clergy and faith of my children..."  She announces the "dispersion of the pastors" (bishops) by the Church itself, real pastors who will be replaced by others formed by hell, initiated in all vices, all iniquities, perfidious, who will cover souls with filth....New preachers of new sacraments, new temples, new baptisms, new confraternities..."

Our Lady recalls the words of La Salette:
 
"These last lines are all on the subject of the priesthood, and because it is Myself who have spoken, who have proven, self-love is mortified, I show how it is with My Divine Son in Holy Orders and how one lives at all times in His priesthood.  How you want Heaven to bless the Earth, I do not speak for pastors, all the priesthood, but the number that I (make an) exception is very small.
 
They already let all souls go adrift, they are occupied with but little of their salvation.  They like rest, good food, well-being.  My dear victim priests, the real number are very few.  They no longer love but with indifference (to) the Holy Tribunal they ascend the Holy Altar because they are forced to accomplish this act but you will soon see joy for no longer ascending the Holy Altar: the joy of being relieved of souls and their forgiveness, (i.e., we will see priests and religious very happy to be relieved from their sacred and paramount duties, they will find them a burden, useless?)  What light words, what conversations that displease many in Heaven.  What will become of them on that great day, what will they be like at that harmful and unforgettable epoch?  I do no repeat the evil that you know in my secrets on the Holy Mountain."
 
"Lately I have suffered.  When holy Pastors (and?) priests wanted the last lines of my secrets, on the mountain of pain, (i.e., La Salette) to let them be known to all my people, other pastors have rebelled.
 
I had the pain of seeing put away, under seals, these pages that should have been delivered to the world. (i.e., the secrets of La Salette.)
 
This is because there is much question of pastors and priests that rebelled, and they folded up the last pages of this divine secret.  How do you think the punishments will not fall on the earth? (i.e., by these actions, how can you think the punishments will not fall?)
 
They will wrap up my last words on the holy mountain and make them disappear.  Just to cause suffering to those who have dedicated themselves to this holy cause, with the joy of glorifying me in this solemn prediction.
 
This is because these lines are all about the priesthood - and it is myself that I pronounced and revealed them - and that I show how they are to be my Son in holy orders and how to live His priesthood."  August 4, 1904  (pages 360 - 361)
