How does the Palm Sunday liturgy usually work in a mission with only low Masses?

Whether 62 or pre-55, the palms are blessed and distributed at the altar rail before Mass. All may be recited rather than sung. No procession and Mass immediately follows.

Pre-55:  Palms are laid and blessed on epistle side of altar. Violet vestments.

62:  Palms are laid and blessed on small table facing the congregation. Red vestments (later changed to violet for Mass)
