Was Our Lord called the Son of Saul? Um, no. David made many grievous mistakes, but he the model of a penitent spirit. To posit/discuss the contrary is incomprehensible nonsense.

You are clearly losing whatever sense you MAY have once had. You are referring to the inspired and infallible revelation of God in a way that shows you do not hold it in esteem. WTF is wrong with you?

Turn off the History Channel. Never watch it. They are no more historians than the ones in Rome are Catholics. Of course he repented. Suffered alot of his purgatory here on earth as well.

The History Channel is Atheistic, Communistic and might I add the got their history degree on the back of a match book cover.

king David and his son (solomon)are great great great great occasion of sin to me.I red about many RELIGIOUS PERSONS who were deprived of intimacy with God just because of a single flaw or imperfection or a habitual voluntary venial sin.but king David had many things:kingdom-pleasures-sancity.
but what do we have?even if I remain a virgin forever,fast and mortify myself,and never look at a guy,wear hairshirts etc. etc. I will be less than him in heaven plus being a nobody on earth.
I am tempted to doubt this saying:"greater love no man has than to give up his life for his friends".it is a greater love to give somebody both pleasures of this life(and that without measure) and give him a greater place in heaven than many chaste ascetics!
I wish I was not created to see all of this.

You are in SERIOUS need of balance, proper perspective, etc. These men have been DEAD for THOUSANDS of years - and the accounts of their lives are part of the inspired and infallible Word of God. WTF???

You need FAITH, girl. Forget all that heavy duty ascetical stuff. You just need to say your basic prayers, read Abandonment to Divine Providence, and take long walks every single day.

The devil is tempting you to get angry at God for things that may seem "hypocritical" actions of God. I had the same feelings when I read some parts of the Bible. For instance, there was a period when I was angry at God when I read the Book of Songs in the Bible. It was full of sɛҳuąƖ imagery and the poems were putting arousing thoughts in my head. I got angry at God because I didn't understand why He would command us to be chaste in thought and word yet inspire Soloman to write such unchaste imagery. I went to a couple of Catholic forums to get an answer but no one could explain why God would do this. The only answer I got was that, in the past, children were protected from reading the Book of Songs, because of its sɛҳuąƖ content. Well, this answer only reinforced my belief that God was putting others in temptation. Anyway, after struggling with this issue for a while and being tempted with anger to God, I finally gave up in trying to understand the thoughts and actions of God. God is all holy and He would therefore never do even the tiniest thing that was wrong. I had to put my trust in God that He knew what He was doing, even though I didn't understand it. The Bible says that God's thoughts are not man's thoughts. How can the creature question the omnipotence of the Creator and think that he knows more than God?
So, my advice to you : LET IT GO - some things with God we may never be able to understand because He is too big for our comprehension. Every time you get tempted to question God's actions, just tell yourself "I do not know better than God".

Before he died did he repent for all his evils...rape, cheating, murders...? Reason asking is the History Channel did a hour long Ancient Battles BC story and David was the topic. I am sure some of you watched it?
Did God forgive him???
Honestly.... didnt the Bible say, David was a man after God's own heart? Sure he sinned (MANY times), but havent we done the same? We go to confession over and over and over again, and do we ask "did God fogive us?". No, because we know God forgave us because we were sincerely sorry for our sins, and Im willing to bet anything that ST.David did indeed do penance during his life and offered up many sacrifices to make up for all his sins. We might as well be asking the same thing about St.Augustine... did God forgive him? Come on....

How could anyone see past royal robes of glory to see David wearing a hairshirt? You would have never guessed that King St.LouisIX of France wore a hairshirt seeing him dressed in royal clothes. The Bible doesnt record every penance that the Old Testament saints and prophets did, (if it did the bible would be 10-20X thicker than what it is now!). We might see what we concieve to be a comfortable and luxurious life when we read about David, but it was anything but comfortable... we dont read about all the times King David went to the Temple to offer sacrifice for his sins, whatever acts of mortification he performed, all the hours he spent in prayer or singing the praises of God, whatever works of charity he may have performed, the prayers he probably offered for the souls in purgatory. There have been plenty of saints who were once more wicked than David, but confessed and did penance for their sins and led a life of sanctity, so much so that they earned a place of glory and veneration after their death. The Bible recognizes King David as a saint, and thats good enough for me.

Ughhh, I really hate and i mean HATE the so-called "History Channel". They will not be satisfied until they tarnish every great figure in the bible through their hilariously bad programming. Anyone see 7 deadly sins week? Laughably bad.

Avoid Biblical programming on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, TLC, National Geographic Channel and PBS. They are run by pagan liberals who want everyone to be as morally corrupt as they are.
If you have doubts about Scripture then, look at solid commentaries and apologetics websites.

There is sth very good about him:He had a great confidence in God.in psalms he sometimes cries.but it is not the cries of an abandoned orphan over his misery,it is the cries of a dear child who is sure that his mother will come soon to huge him.His cries are so full of hope.He calles himself a servant of God, therefore his enemies are God's enemies.after his repentance, he is again so full of confidence, as though God was obliged or sworn to protect him and make him prosper. His trust in God is even greater than that of St.Therese who never ever commited a single mortal sin. and when God seems to be deaf to his prayer, he doesn't say:He has left me, I am too sinful to be heard by him, let me help myself." No he rather cried louder and believes God's silence be a proof ofd his Goodness.
there are 2 atitudes that one can have toward God:
1-like a beggar:"would you be so kind as to give me a penny?"
2-like a child:" dear Dad! I want a toy car. please buy me a blue one for my birthday".
David chose the second attitude.
