  • In that time,
John the Baptist was with two of his disciples.
Looking upon Jesus who came and went, he said:
"Behold the Lamb of God. »
The two disciples heard what he said,
     and they followed Jesus.
Turning around, Jesus saw them following,
     and said:
What are you looking for? »
     They replied:
"Rabbi - which means Teacher -
     where do you live? »
     He said:
     "Come and see. »
     So they went,
     saw where he was staying,
and they stayed with him that day.
It was about the tenth hour (about four o'clock in the afternoon).

Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two disciples
who had heard the word of John and followed him.
He first found Simon, his own brother, and said:
"We have found the Messiah" - which means: Christ.
Andrew brought his brother to Jesus.
Jesus looked at him and said:
     "You are Simon son of John;
you shall be called Cephas "- which means: Rock.

  • What the disciples found in the home of Jesus?
Why did Jesus called Simon Cephas?
    What does Cephas mean?
