  • If one wants to print (not necessarily publish) out excerpts of a book that has been given an Imprimatur for free distribution can the original Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur be included in the reprinting?

Copyright is not a concern since the excerpts in question are not under copyright.

Does anyone know what would be a good way to print out a Word docuмent (of probably around 10 pages - perhaps not even that much) in such a way that it could be distributed as a small booklet that would be handy to carry to Mass?

Would a half-size piece of paper make for a small enough booklet? Formatting for a half-fold book is easy enough. Anything smaller would probably involve slicing as well. I can format a half fold booklet for you if you don't know how.

You might consider using cardstock for a cover if you want them to last.

A half fold would be fine actually. I'll try to format it and see if I can succeed.

I probably shouldn't run my mouth off before I actually complete this, but it's really exciting. I've acquired a prayerbook published in 1967 (but with a NO and Impr. from 1951) for the diocese of Hanoi which contains a treasury of prayers to be said by the faithful while attending Low Mass, High Mass, etc that are meant to help the faithful attending mass unite their prayers with the actions of the priest. It is not a missal (I'm beginning to doubt that those even exist) but it is still a great blessing to have.

It shouldn't be that much work to type up these prayers into a Word docuмent and print them out for distribution. I have a least 1 or 2 people in my area that would appreciate and use this. Also since it would be a Word docuмent I could email it to anyone on the forum that attends a chapel with a Vietnamese (large or otherwise) population and then they can decide if they want to print it out, etc.
