Absolutely incorrect.  You really have to stop posting stuff out of context.

That passage you cite is a quotation from the Greek schismatic practice and not the pope’s teaching.  He’s going through all their practices and critiquing what must be changed in order for them to re-enter Communion with the Holy See.  These Greeks actually had a more Novus Ordite anointing of the sick perspective on it, which the pope criticized.

Breathing stops before cardiac function ceases. The electrical activity of the heart can go on for a while after breathing stops

I wish to correct myself here as I recently remembered this post and realized someone reading what I posted could be scandalized. Benedict XIV seems to be speaking of what *should* be done, not what *must* be done for a sacrament to be validly conferred. Someone without use of faculties can still benefit from Extreme Unction.  I would like to request that Matthew delete my above posts lest people are scandalized and refuse to call a priest for someone dying because they don't have use of their faculties.
