Holy Mother Church commemorates these glorious Martyrs on the first day of August. The following is a commentary upon the Mass in honor of the Holy Machabees, taken from the late Cardinal Schuster's The Sacramentary (Liber Sacramentorum): Historical and Liturgical Notes on the Roman Missal (vol. IV, trans. Arthur Levelis-Marke; New York: Benziger Brothers, 1929).
