I downvoted you, soulguard, because this is neither the time nor the place for complaining about our mothers.
The Collect of the First Solemn Mass of Easter Sunday:
O God, Who dost illuminate this most holy night by the glory of the Lord's Resurrection, preserve in the new children of Thy family the spirit of adoption which Thou hast given; that renewed in body and mind, they may render to Thee a pure service.
As baptized souls, we're adopted. Our eternal mother is the Virgin Mary, as long as we're in the Mystical Body, which is to say, in her Son. She loves us as she loves her Son, as long as she sees her Son in us. So what reason can we have to be bitter?
The very least we can say about our earthly mothers on Mother's Day is that she carried us and allowed us to be born. We can at the very least be grateful for that.
