  • Happy Feast Day of the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary!

From The Saint Andrew Daily Missal with Vespers for Sundays and Feasts by Dom Gaspar Lefebvre, O.S.B., of the Abbey of St- André (Bruges, Belgium: Liturgical Apostolate of the Abbey of St-André, 1956), here is the Mass, together with Vespers, for the Feast of the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

  • From The Lessons of the Temporal Cycle and the Principle Feasts of the Sanctoral Cycle according to the Monastic Breviary: Compiled and Adapted for the Office of the Brothers of St. Meinrad's Abbey (St. Meinrad, Indiana: St. Meinraid's Abbey, 1943), here is the English translation of the Lessons of the Second and Third Nocturns at Matins for the Feast of the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

  • From The Litany of Loreto by Rev. Fr. Richard Klaver (St. Louis, MO: B. Herder Book Co., 1954), here are some beautiful and edifying reflections upon the title Sancta Dei Genitrix wherewith Holy Mother Church extols the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Litanies of Loreto.

  • The tome The Mirror of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Speculum Beatae Mariae Virginis) and The Psalter of Our Lady (Psalterium Beatae Mariae Virginis) (trans. Sr. Mary Emmanual, O.S.B.; St. Louis, MO: B. Herder Book Co., 1932), which contains these two opuscules of the Seraphic Doctor, St. Bonaventure, is to be highly recommended.

The Psalterium is the most interesting, since it is a Marian adaptation of the Roman Psalter. St. Bonaventure emended the initial verses of the Psalms so as to make them into praises and prayers to Our Lady. The Seraphic Doctor emended the Canticles of the Divine Office as well, and he even adapted the Athanasian Creed, the English translation of which follows:.

  • Here is a translation of the beautiful Marian adaptation of the celebrated Ambrosian Hymn Te Deum written by the great Seraphic Doctor, Saint Bonaventure: to be found in the above-mentioned Psalterium.

  • It may interest you to know that in 2003 Pope John Paul II met with the Katholikos of the Assyrian church of the East (Nestorian) Dinka V wherein Dinka signed a statement saying that they believe that Mary is the Mother of God, thereby renouncing Nestorianism. What a great day!!!

  • This is a day that call for penance and reparation, for fifty years ago a great chastisement was inflicted upon the children of Holy Mother Church and the enemies thereof dared to profane this sacred Feast Day by inaugurating their Johannine-Pauline council.

Let us pray for Holy Mother Church, and confide her to the great Mother of God, the Blessed Virgin Mary, through whom Our Lord will reign upon the nations and make it known to the world that His Church is His and not to be profaned by modernism.

Here is a beautiful prayer for Holy Mother Church composed by Saint Alphonsus, taken from the Manuale C.Ss.R. (New York: Provincial Residence, 1955).

  • From The Litany of Loreto by Rev. Fr. Richard Klaver (St. Louis, MO: B. Herder Book Co., 1954), here are some beautiful and edifying reflections upon the title Mater Creatoris wherewith Holy Mother Church extols the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Litanies of Loreto.

These reflections furnish very good apologetic material whereby one may explain the Divine Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Protestants, modernists, and other heretics.

  • From The Litany of Loreto by Rev. Fr. Richard Klaver (St. Louis, MO: B. Herder Book Co., 1954), here are some beautiful and edifying reflections upon the title Mater Salvatoris wherewith Holy Mother Church extols the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Litanies of Loreto.

These reflections furnish very good apologetic material whereby one may explain the singular place that the Blessed Virgin Mary occupies in the economy of salvation to Protestants, modernists, and other heretics, and to those who have questioned the doctrine of Our Lady as Co-Redemptress.
