From The Missal According to the Carmelite Rite in Latin and English for Every Day in the Year (Rome: Vatican Polyglot Press, 1953), here is the ancient Procession that the Carmelites held in honor of the glorious Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

  • From The Saint Andrew Daily Missal with Vespers for Sundays and Feasts by Dom Gaspar Lefebvre, O.S.B., of the Abbey of St- André (Bruges, Belgium: Liturgical Apostolate of the Abbey of St-André, 1956), here is the formulary of the Mass for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as the proper texts for Vespers as found in the Roman Breviary.

  • From The Missal According to the Carmelite Rite in Latin and English for Every Day in the Year (Rome: Vatican Polyglot Press, 1953), here is the formulary of the Mass for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

It resembles the Mass formulary that was found in the Roman Missal prior to the promulgation of the new Mass Signum magnum. The Carmelites, the Dominicans and the Monastic Orders were allowed to keep the ancient Office and Mass of the Assumption, leaving the new formularies to be used ad libitum if the Superiors of their respective individual Religious houses so desired and ordained.

  • From the late Cardinal Schuster's work The Sacramentary (Liber Sacramentorum): Historical and Liturgical Notes on the Roman Missal (vol. V.; trans. Arthur Levelis-Marke & W. Fairfax-Cholmeley; New York: Benziger Brothers, 1930), here is a commentary upon the Mass for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the formulary of which is now abolished but is preserved in the Missals of certain usages of the Roman Rite, as evinced in the Carmelite, Dominican and Monastic Missals.

  • A great commentary upon the Introit of the Mass Signum magnum for the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady may be found in the great work of Rev. Fr. Thomas Livius, C.Ss.R., Mary in the Epistles, or, The Implicit Teaching of the Apostles Concerning the Blessed Virgin Contained in Their Writings, Illustrated from the Fathers and Other Authors with Introductory Chapters (London: Burns & Oates, Ltd., 1891):
