[Note: Yes, I know it is not the 15th of October, but I am posting this for those who would like to make a Novena to this great Saint, especially those who are Carmelite Tertiaries or who cherish a special devotion to this great Saint. I recommend such a Novena for all those who strive to cultivate the interior life more seriously, and those who ultimately strive for the heights of mystical prayer (do Jesus and Mary deserve any less from us?)]

My mind seems to escape me as I try to find the words wherewith to express how gladdened and humbled I am by the omnipotence and clemency of God, Who has raised forth St. Teresa of Jesus as the great Mistress of Prayer, so devoutly venerated by the great Doctor of Prayer, St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori.
To help you honor this great Saint, I hereby offer you the following Novena and devotions, taken from the tome Carmelite Devotions and Prayers for Special Feasts of the Liturgical Year, compiled by a Carmelite Tertiary (Milwaukee, WI: The Bruce Publishing Company, 1956).

Happy Feast Day of St. Teresa of Jesus!
In honor of this great illuminatrix in the ways of prayer and mystical union, here is a meditation composed by the great St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori, found in an appendix of a very rare edition of The Glories of Mary (Vol. II, trans. Rev. Fr. Eugene Grimm; New York: Benziger Brothers, 1887).
