Happy Feast Day of St. Catherine of Alexandria!

From The Dominican Missal in Latin and English (Oxford: Blackfriars Publications, 1948), here is the Mass for the Feast of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Virgin and Martyr, whom the Sacred Order of Friars Preachers venerated as their Protectress on account of her celestial patronage on behalf of students and preachers of sacred theology and philosophy.

From The Missal According to the Carmelite Rite in Latin and English for Every Day in the Year (Rome: Vatican Polyglot Press, 1953), here is the Mass of the Feast of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Virgin and Martyr, which differs from the Mass Loquebar in the Dominican and Roman Missals.

The festive solemnity of this Mass is a testimony of the great veneration and celebrity wherewith our Medieval forefathers extolled St. Catherine.

From the late Cardinal Schuster's work The Sacramentary (Liber Sacramentorum): Historical and Liturgical Notes on the Roman Missal (vol. V.; trans. Arthur Levelis-Marke & W. Fairfax-Cholmeley; New York: Benziger Brothers, 1930), here is a commentary upon the Feast of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Virgin and Martyr.

From the celebrated work of Dom Prosper Guéranger, Abbot of Solesmes, The Liturgical Year: Time after Pentecost - Book VI (trans. Dom Laurence Shepherd; Westminster, MD: The Newman Press, 1949), here is a copious and illuminating commentary upon the Feast Day of St. Catherine of Alexandria, Virgin and Martyr.

Saint Catherine was one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers, so very much venerated by our forefathers of saner yore.

From The Saint Andrew Daily Missal with Vespers for Sundays and Feasts by Dom Gaspar Lefebvre, O.S.B., of the Abbey of St- André (Bruges, Belgium: Liturgical Apostolate of the Abbey of St-André, 1956), here is some information about the Fourteen Holy Helpers.

From the tome Kyrie Eleison: Two Hundred Litanies with Historico-Liturgical Introduction and Notes by Rev. Fr. Benjamin Francis Musser, O.F.M. (Westminster, MD: The Newman Bookshop, 1944), here is a Litany in honor of the Fourteen Holy Helpers.
