I don’t know if it’s just me but it just seems off how it says “…commits me here…”
Is the “me” correct?
“Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this day…”
Shouldn’t it be thee? Referring to the Angel?
English is not my first language.
"commits me here" basically means that God is putting the person in the care and custody of the angel.
Here is the prayer in Spanish:
"Angel of God" (in Spanish)
Ángel de Dios, que eres mi custodio,
pues la bondad divina me ha encomendado a ti,
ilumíname, guárdame, defiéndeme y gobiérname.
Amén."
And Latin:
"Ángele Dei,
qui custos es mei,
me tibi commissum pietáte supérna,
hodie illúmina, custódi, rege et gubérna."
