I have a question regarding St. Philomena and so I searched using the wonderful Search Button and it said there are no matches to my request.

I was incredulous.   So I started this thread,  but I wasn't Incredulous.

Maybe someone else has a question about St. Philomena, and if so, you can ask it here and someone might know the answer!

    Thank you, shin.

The woman who journeyed to Italy from France to encourage the Pope to recognize St. Philomena 18 centuries after her martyrdom had happened, Ven. Pauline Jaricot, was blessed in her mission by St. John Vianney, the Cure d'Ars.  St. John had instructed her to go see the Pope on the way to Philomena's shrine in Mugnano, and then after she would be cured, to return to Rome to report to the Pope and let him observe her recovery from illness.  And so it was.

The little village of Ars, France, was to become a 'mecca' of miracles, so to speak.  People came from far and wide to be cured from all manner of illness and troubles.  Whenever they would thank the Cure d'Ars for his grace and blessing, he would point to St. Philomena, and say,

It is none of my doing!  I am not the one you should be thanking!
She is the one you should thank, because she is the one from whom these miracles have come, not I!

  • Yes she truly is one of the saints famous for her special help and intervention.

Truly she deserves the title of 'Wonder-worker!'
