  • This does not have an imprimatur.
    OK.

Have you ever read a book about the current crisis in the Church (or really just about anything on spiritual matters printed since 1962)?

If you think the alleged suggestions concerning devotion to one's Guardian Angel of the late Fr. Faber are erroneous, harmful to souls, or heretical, speak up!

But he is a Doctor of Divinity.

  • But he is a Doctor of Divinity.

It was honorary, from Brown University, which wasn't even a Catholic institute.

It would have been much different had it been published after a bishop with the office of giving an imprimatur gave the approval. If not in the first edition, then a subsequent one.

Thank you so much for sharing this! Father Faber is one of my favorite writers.  I didn't even know this book existed!

Faber has some askew stuff now and then. Not major, but annoying enough to notice by their frequency. I think it tends to happen with converts from Protestantism.

These 20 devotions should never be ALL implemented at once, and some of them should not even be practiced. This book was not imprimatured by a bishop. Best to ignore it.

No Saint practiced all of these, only very few and not constantly. It's way overdone.
