  • My father is not a good man. He grew up Catholic before Vatican II so he knows all about the faith, but he rejected it and hates God.

Often he tries to convince me to stop believing. We were talking today and he was trying to tell me that Pope Pius XII was sending Jєωs to Hitler to be murdered during World War II. He really does hate God and he believes all the lies he learns from the Media. He even loves Obama.

I like telling him about miracles but he never believes them. I even told him about a miracle that happened to me, but he does not care. Please say a prayer for him.

    Thank you.
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • Show him the pictures of the incorrupt saints, on the internet, there is also a good book about that, the incorruptibles, I believe.

Prayer is good, I will offer my Sunday Mass tomorrow for him.

I love miracle stories, what was yours?  If you can tell, if not I understand

    Please pray for my soul.

Sure. I was at Mass once and when the priest held up the host, it lit up like a light bulb. Only I saw this.

Thank you for praying for him.

  • I just thought of a sure way for you be an instrument in saving his soul.  I don't know why I didn't think of it, but I did while praying this tonight.

Did you know that God made a promise concerning St. Gertrude the Great.  BTW, she is the only women with the title of Great.
The promise is; now read carefully; Whosoever thanks God for the graces bestowed upon St. Gertrude, and asks a favor of God, not St. Gertrude, that is the will of God, it will not be refused.
It is God's Will that all men be saved, therefore  you can't lose with this prayer, I pray  it daily.

Just include his name where the ? is.  Remember too, he might not be converted till his death bed, God's timing is perfect, but it only takes a minute or so, to pray this, so please pray it daily and don't give up.

    **********

Teach me, O dearest Lord to please You in all things, most merciful One, engrave Thy wounds in my heart with Thy most precious blood, that I may read in them both Thy grief and Thy love.  I thank Thee for the many special graces bestowed upon your Saints, and in particular those bestowed on St. Gertrude the Great.  I beg you to hear my request for ------?------- and all I am obligated to pray for.  Please O dearest Lord give to them a natural aversion to evil and an attraction toward good.  Give to them the special graces that your holy mother allows to flow freely to those who ask, may I now humbly ask for them.
Heal my soul with Thy precious blood, that I might participate in Your sufferings and sorrows and for the same end – expiation of my past sins and sins committed in the world today. Amen
    Please pray for my soul.

  • Pray always.

Yep, miracles are good to tell your father because people who get in that condition start to believe only science and scientists. You need to harness this situation and that is to get your hands on the scientific data, the scientific testimony that shows non-Catholic scientists have studied and tested miracles and are baffled.

One such I remember was from Lourdes, and around the turn of the 19th century when there were x-rays. A man in Europe so completely broke his leg below the knee that the bone protruded the skin. He lived for months with this while doctors tried to set the bone with no success. He finally decided to visit Lourdes. People on the train were used to seeing to the sick, but it was especially gruesome to see this man on crutches with his foot twisted almost facing backward. He finally bathed in the water, but nothign happened. Most of the miracles usually happened after being blessed by a priest with the Blessed Sacrament over the crowd. The very next days he was seen walking on his leg, pefectly healed. The same doctors and scientists took x-rays and compared older x-rays. Bones that heal show scar tissue on the bone where the break was. This showed in the x-ray in the same place, however, scientists saw that a missing piece of bone that prevented healing was now in place.

Similiar occured at Lourdes to a man from Britain. He had a pension from the state because of his injuries. A hole in his skull where you could actually see the out membranes of the brain. His are was atrophied and useless, and I can't recall but he couldn't walk and was in wheelchair. Long story short, he was healed, had no more hole in his skull. This is docuмented by doctors, who don't call it a miracle because they are not Catholic, but verify the truth and simply say they cannot explain it. The healed man further went to the British government and told them he didn't need the pension anymore.

How about Fatima itself. Unbelievers will inevitable say it was merely a rare natural phenomenon in the sky. But you must ask two things, how could the muddy ground which was drenched with water from all the rain, completely dry in a matter of a couple of minutes? The best question - how could three children saying they were told by our Lady there would be a miracle, just coincidentally predict to the very minute, a rare natural phenomenon that was only seen at that city and never recorded in history?

Then you might like to look up the miracle 8 blocks from ground zero at Hiroshima where the frame of a house of Jesuits did not collapse, though the windows and walls broke and they were thrown about. Amazing for the building to have stood, but the miracle was they never were infected by radiation their whole lives. Tons of scientists have studied them and cannot explain it. Look up Fr. Hubert Schiffer.

Once you relate several Catholic miracles, the big question is - why are scientists particularly baffled by the fact these always pertain to Catholics?

    Incorruptibles

  • Thank you for the miracle stories. I like hearing them. My father knows all about the faith, and about miracles, but he does not want to believe, so he will not believe. He believes in the New York Times instead. He is like one of those scientists who sees the miracles and still will not believe. I think he secretly wishes he were a Jєω. I am thankful for him because he supports me (I am unwell and cannot support myself), and I hope he recovers from his Godless liberalism, but he has a very bad case.

I think you want to be a Jєω, Augustine, you certainly enjoy cringing and playing the sympathy card like a Jєω.  I get your little joke, how you are blending in and people are gradually forgetting that you already revealed who you are ( revelation of the method ) -- I admit it's clever, go away now.
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • You tell him, Matto.  But don't hope for much success.  He still insists I said things I didn't even when he can't dig up the proof that  I said them.  Strange things go on in his head.

  • I would like to correct something I said in this thread. I should not have said my father hates God, because I cannot read his heart. I was speaking far too strongly and am sorry.
