  • Ave Maria, gratia plena,

    Dominus tecuм;

     Benedicta tu in mulieribus,

et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Jesus.

    Sancta Maria, Mater Dei,

    ora pro nobis peccatoribus, nunc

et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen

  • In the Novus Ordo religion the Assumption Holy Day of Obligation is abrogated this year because it falls on a Saturday. All the more reason for us to honor Our Lady as much as possible on this glorious feast.
Mother of God, pray for us sinners.

If you follow the Novus Ordo, then you skip it as a HDO and it is no "sin", well to them anyway.

If you follow tradition, then you go to Mass if there is one in your area.  If there is no traditional Mass to attend it is not a sin to miss Mass.

  • I totally forgot about it this year. I did not notice it on the calendar and the priest at my chapel never mentioned it. I had no traditional Mass to go to anyway but I could have said more prayers to sanctify the day.
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • Mass in Honor of the Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary on the very day
the Promulgation by Pope Pius XII in 1950.
    Holy Name Cathedral, Chicago, Illinois
    Cardinal Samuel Stritch, Celebrant

Sorry, for to much light. This photo was taken by Major Newspaper
in Chicago and that was the most advanced photography at that
    time.
