I've been praying the Rosary mystery of Pentecost with the special intention that I get validly confirmed. Maybe the fact that there is all this uncertainty is a message from Heaven telling me to quit this possibility.

Poenitens, my recommendation is to just stay away from the SSPX. If you have access to an SST mass, go to that chapel instead.

 Also, you probably don't need to wait for the bishop to come to that SST chapel for confirmations. Contact the SST priest and tell him of your need for surgery. You can probably travel to the bishop and get confirmed much sooner. And if you have other friends or family members who need conditional confirmation, take them along with you.
