  • Catholics in North America have long considered Fr. Solanus Casey already a Saint.
Rome is finally on the road to acknowledging this great humble priest.
At least his beatification will introduce this wonderful man to people who haven't
    heard of him.
    Father Casey pray for us

  • Well, it is a Novus Order thing.  I was born and raised in Huntington, IN and Fr. Solanus Casey was there for awhile at St. Felix Monastery.  There were people we knew who saw miracles happen, like Dentist Hohe, Fr. Casey's dentist.  Fr. Solanus Casey kept many note books of people signed up for Seraphic Masses.

  • I'm almost certain that there was not one single American born saint till the Vat II saint factory went into production.

  • Fr Solanus had no part in the Novus Ordo or the Newchurch.

    As Miseremini said

    Quote
At least his beatification will introduce this wonderful man to people who haven't heard of him.
    Fr Solanus pray for us.

For those who haven't and those who have:
    ROAD TO SAINTHOOD
The road to sainthood for Fr. Solanus Casey is paved with 87 years of giving. As he lay dying, Fr. Solanus said to Fr. Gerald Walker, “I looked on my whole life as giving, and I want to give until there is nothing left of me to give. So I prayed that, when I come to die, I might be perfectly conscious, so that with a deliberate act I can give my last breath to God.” At 11:00 the next morning, on the 53rd anniversary of his first Mass, suddenly Fr. Solanus opened his eyes wide, stretched out his arms and said clearly, “I give my soul to Jesus Christ.” He willingly gave his last breath to God.
At the funeral Mass, Fr. Gerald said, “His was a life of service and love for people like me and you. When he himself was not sick, he nevertheless suffered with and for you that were sick. When he was not physically hungry, he hungered with people like you. He had a divine love for people. He loved people for what he could do for them – and for God, through them.”
Over 8,000 attended Fr. Solanus' funeral
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • Thank you Nadir for getting the point.
The more younger people learn about the saints of the 20th century the faster they
will realize what has been lost to them when they lost tradition.

And I'm talking about saints who died before V II. and never heard of NO

"Come to America, lose the faith".

Does it really matter if anyone was actually "born" here or not?  St. Frances Cabrini sanctified herself in America and was canonized.
"there can be no holiness where there is disagreement with the pope" - Pope St. Pius X

Today, only Catholics holding the sedevacantist position are free from the anguish entailed by this truth.

  • The Catholics of every country want to see their sons and daughters raised to the Altar
That's not so hard to understand.
