  • Perhaps this is posted in the wrong forum, but as it does pertain to a sacrament....

What is the expectation for dress during the baptism for adults? Older children (receiving the adult rite)? Preschoolers (3 years old)? Do you wear white, or just dress nicely? Perhaps each parish has a specific set of guidelines.... really looking for valid answers for a reputable source, rather than just personal opinions if possible.

    Thanks!

  • Really surprised here...no response...

are unbaptized converts so rare that no one here has been one, or knew one? Admittedly, I have gotten quite the shocked reception throughout this whole journey.

Wishing there was a traditional forum for converts. Such a huge, life-altering thing, and few people understand the wonderful and hard journey it can be.

  • My family was baptized when we converted.  I wore a white dress with a veil and my son wore a white suit, but the you did not want personal experiences.

You are right, I am sorry, I should have better phrased my OP. I don't mind personal experiences, I guess I was trying to avoid possible rude/snarky type responses from those with big opinions and little experience. I see that  happen quite often, and I don't like it. :) Thank you for sharing!
