Do we continue to stand after being incensed?

  • I'm at work so I don't have my Missal in front of me to reference.

In the High Mass, when the people are incensed we stand.  The New Roman Missal (Fr. Lascance, 1945) instructs us to remain standing for the Preface.  I take this to mean that we stand for the incensing and do not sit down.  What happens at the Church I attend (Motu Mass) is that the people stand for the incensing, sit afterward, and then stand for the Preface.  I am always the only one standing throughout that part.

    Am I mistaken?

    Thanks

    Robert

  • I can't imagine that it is anything major as to whether or not you stand or sit during that part.
My priest talked about stuff like this in his sermon. He says that you should do your best to not draw attention to yourself during mass. Man is easily distracted by trivial things, as we all know, so it would probably be best to sit when everyone else does, otherwise people start thinking about what you are doing and less on God.

In regards to being a responsible man, would it be interesting to learn, after six years of accuмulating all the wisdom you could, that you had it right all alon
