  • De Defectibus is printed at the beginning of altar missals along with the rubrics. An interesting section of it is:
    Quote from: De Defectibus
If a consecrated host or any particle of it falls to the ground or floor, it is to be taken up reverently, a little water is to be poured over the place where it fell, and the place is to be dried with a purificator.  If it falls on clothing, the clothing need not be washed.  If it falls on a woman's clothing, the woman herself is to take the particle and consume it.
I'd assume this is because more scandal could be taken for a priest touching a woman's clothing than a woman touching a consecrated Particle?

  • That is how I understood it too.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

Not that priests don't touch women when they anoint them, but that's what they're supposed to do for those sacraments.

  • Probably from the good old days when most priests were straight.

If only novus ordo presiders had the bad habit of touching women instead of little boys...

Granted, both are mortal sins but in the current events case of that scuмbag in charge of the LA Clippers, everyone's all up in arms over describing the race of her fornicators, no one is even noticing that she's a hired harlot who deceived her "solicitor/benefactor".
