Is it inappropriate or strange to go to Confession daily in the case of someone who feels he needs it?
I asked my parish priest about this a while back and he gave a rather roundabout answer that seemed to suggest 1-2 times a week max.

I have heard of saints doing that. But I wonder what they would confess if they went so often?

Recall that the Saints found any single fault as worthy of confession, so they most likely confessed any and all spiritual blemishes they had each day. Things that you or I probably wouldn't think twice about.

Then do what he told you. He's the one that knows your soul, not us here. :cowboy:

My Trad Priest recently said if you look deep enough you’ll find enough for weekly confession. Daily could be challenging, if a just man falls 7 times daily though…then I guess it’s worthy of consideration. Can the Sacrament of Penance be abused?

Another consideration is the availability of a priest. I am not being facetious, but is there a glut somewhere?

My husband and I used to go once a week years ago before our confessor and friend died.
A couple of times I went To confession in a row if I sinned.
You can make a nightly examination of conscience:

I just read the above. Yikes. In a good way.

Fair enough. ;)

I have had times of going to daily Mass but not confession. The idea of examining your conscience daily sounds positive.

It is. When I consistently remember to do it, I find that it's easier to make a good confession because you don't need to rack your conscience as you would if you waited to do an examination of conscience the night before confession, or the day of.

Think of your individual daily inclinations. Few hours of idleness? Didn't phrase something as kindly as you should have to your wife? Hesitation in prayer? Distraction in prayer? There's no end. No problem making a list of venial sins at your nightly examination of conscious and confessing all of those daily. This actually gives you a sort of "spiritual blueprint" of your shortcomings when you notice a trend in these daily confessions.
