• So yesterday I came across 2 John 9-11 again via a Youtube video. Here is what the Douay Rheims translates it as

Quote
Whosoever revolteth, and continueth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that continueth in the doctrine, the same hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If any man come to you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into the house nor say to him, God speed you.
11 For he that saith unto him, God speed you, communicateth with his wicked works.

The Knox translation renders it as

Quote
The man who goes back, who is not true to Christ’s teaching, loses hold of God; the man who is true to that teaching, keeps hold both of the Father and of the Son.[3] 10 If you are visited by one who does not bring this teaching with him, you must not receive him in your houses, or bid him welcome; 11 to bid him welcome is to share the guilt of his doings.
This made me think. I have had many thoughts about just threatening to quit my job since they have a sodomite flag in the hall. If merely bidding a heretic "Godspeed" can cause you to share in his sin what else can? However I wonder if St. John is saying this because of the potential of the heretic leading others astray.

• You need to read this passage for what it is. It is St John writing this to a particular church community. Your workplace is not a Church community.

Of course if you were to walk into the home of your fellow Catholic and saw a sodomite flag displayed you would get out of there quicksmart and any fellowship you may have had would be ended.

Of course you must be disturbing to be not in a good space where you work but it is not what St John is saying. You’ll be wise to find some other way to survive if possible, remembering that you need to eat and pay your way. I hope you are able to find alternative employment.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

• I would say to keep your job, and don't let them run you out by having a sodomite flag displayed.  You are not even rendering to them remote cooperation, let alone more proximate or formal cooperation.  You might want to consider another job as part of your "long game", but for right now, you can't help what other people do.  Finding absolute moral purity in today's secular workplace is impossible.

Please don't get scrupulous over Scripture passages.

• I admit that I'm kinda scrupulous with that passage of St. John, but if Nadir explained it correctly, so it isn't so black v white. I have some non-catholic colleagues or friends that I talk sometimes or play something with them, and I don't really know if I'm doing something wrong.

• In the short term you could pray some exorcism prayers and put some holy water down for your work places conversion. Hide miraculous medals here and there and pray the st Michael prayer over the flag for it to be removed.

God bless

I was thinking it could be consent due to not making an effort to get the fag flag taken down,

Several people have repeatedly urged you to see a priest about your scruples.  Every other day you start a thread angsting about some sin  you may be committing.  That is textbook scruples.

I second this recommendation. Consider that it's two men telling you the above words. "That in the mouth of one or two witnesses every word may stand."

And there have been others as well ... several times before.
