I met the now Bishop Fliess once years ago and was very impressed.  So, when I heard that he was being chosen to be Consecrated, I was very delighted.  

I remember him having a very dignified manner but also a kind and warm personality and a good sense of humor.

So, of what nationality is +Fliess?  He's clearly not a native English speaker.  I read the NOW article but it never mentioned his background.
