Did some of the chants of the Mass get slightly altered too in 1969? I have noticed some distinctions in certain parts of the Mass that are chanted is why. I have one question first concerning it: Is the Gospel chanted differently in certain times of the year, or was that changed in the NOM slightly? I notice some sort of slight difference in sound.

 

A few other questions I have:

 

1) Were some chants simplified?

 

2) Is the Amen left out of some chants deliberately? Like the Adoro Te Devote? Or Veni Creator Spiritus? (I ask this because I have heard some tracks from a cd of mine that has chants of the Benedictine monks of Solesmes in recent years, and I noticed there was no Amen said at the end of the Adoro Te Devote or Veni Creator Spiritus.)

 

3) Were the Epistle and Gospel chants slightly altered?

 

4) Where did the Per ipsum chanted and the chant prayer by the congregation right after the Pater noster come from?

For your 1st question, do you mean to ask whether the chants in the Mass were altered in the permitted Tridentine Mass, or are you asking about the NO?  I don't think that the chants in the Tridentine were altered.  I've got an altar book from France that is close to 100 years old and the chants look the same, except that there were more varied responses for throughout the year.  We still have those variations in the Tridentine, but I don't think all the priests use them.  I don't know if it was like this also 100 years ago.
