  • From Carmelite Devotions and Prayers for Special Feasts of the Liturgical Year, compiled by a Carmelite Tertiary (Milwaukee, WI: The Bruce Publishing Company, 1956), here are some beautiful devotions for the Christmas Novena that begins on the 16th of December.

Please keep in your prayers Mrs. Tracy Miller, an exemplary traditional Catholic mother of six children. She has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Please ignore all that I have written regarding sedevacantism.

  • This may sound a little silly, how should one go about doing a novena like this. Is there usually an intention placed with the novena? Is this supposed to prepare one spiritually for the coming child Lord?

    Just curious  :smirk:

Like every other Novena, but with a special charity and fervor because of the great dignity of the sacred solemnities of Christmas.

There usually are intentions, according to the necessities and circuмstances of the individual, and the inspirations of holy grace. However, the prime and foremost intention is indeed the intensification of the spirit of Advent in order to be prepared to adore the Divine Infant on Christmas Day in as much a worthy manner as we can.
