  • A merry and holy Christmas Eve to all.

I pray everyone is of good cheer and close to the Holy Family these holy days. May God keep us close to the Holy Family and together in love of Christ!

'This holy Virgin, so soon to become a mother, certainly suffered much in so long a journey, made in the middle of winter, and over rough roads; but she suffered with peace and with love. She offered to God all these her trials, uniting them to those of Jesus, whom she carried in her womb.

Oh, let us unite ourselves also, and let us accompany Mary and Joseph in the journey of our life; and, with them, let us accompany the King of Heaven, who is born in a cave, and makes his first appearance in the world as an infant, but as the poorest and most forsaken infant that ever was born amongst men. And let us beseech Jesus, Mary, and Joseph that, through the merits of the pains which they suffered in this journey, they would accompany us in the journey that we are making to eternity. Oh, blessed shall we be if, in life and in death, we keep company with these three great personages, and are always accompanied by them!'

    Sincerely,

    Shin

  • Hail and blessed be the hour and moment In which the Son of God was born, of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires,  through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His blessed Mother. Amen.

  • I don't mean to be a pessimist but on the eve of our Savior's birth, in this country we are told that saying "Merry Christmas" is hateful, devisive, insensitive, etc. and in the land of our Savior Israelis and Palestinians are still killing eachother.

    Buon Natale!

    Merry Christmas CI!

    .

Warning: sad note and prayer request:
On Facebook, I just read a surprising large number of people who are praying a DM for Christmas, and the consensus (many in agreement) was that the DM has replaced praying the Rosary for many catholics. One reason listed was that the Rosary was "boring" compared to the "spirituality" of the DM.

Please keep these catholics in mind, who have opted rather openly to use their rosaries for the DM only. I know this development was expected, but I find it very disheartening, and am adding a special prayer intention for such catholics who have replaced the Rosary, which points to Jesus our Lord, with the DM. Please pray for such misguided souls. I've never in all my years heard the Holy Rosary referred to as "boring". These people need prayer as much as the hungry need food, or the poor need clothes and shelter. I may fast for them also. (I also added them to the "Restricted" list so I don't have to read such things until I'm spiritually stronger.)
