  • Hmmm, I wonder who the patron of chemistry might be.  There's a patron for almost any career or vocation.  A patron of students is St. Dominic Savio.  I'm sure there are others.
    Saying a prayer for you....

  • Lybus, I'll say a prayer to St. Guissepe of Copertino, the patron saint of exams for you.  For me to pass a chemistry exam would take a miracle.

Likewise for me. To be honest I actually find Chemistry to be very fascinating, as well as physics and the other sciences. I just didn't get on well with this class, so I'm definitely hanging in the balance.

It's good to know I have some friends whose blessings I can take into battle with me. Thanks also to those who offered a prayer but didn't post it.

  • Well guys here's the news: I managed to scrape a D for this exam, so if I do REALLY REALLY well...like....top 10 percent of the class well on this final, then it will be possible for me to pass the class.

    Thanks for all your prayers.

AAAHHHMMMM! Please visualize a mother in bathrobe and bunny slippers, with arms folded and tapping one foot.  What do you mean a D?!!!! Good Grief! Okay Lybus, when is the final?  Hey forum members, what say we get a novena going for this boy?  We pray and he keeps his nose in his chemistry book!!!  Is anyone else in?  A D, Lybus, heck I could have gotten a D!  I was sure that you are way smarter then I!  You get back to the books and I'll get down on my knees.  I'm sure it's a plan that will work!

  • I've already developed a plan in my mind to smoke that exam. I can't see it failing, since it involves many rosaries and study. I have 24 days till the final so that's (three hours of study times 24= 72 hours of study) + (24 times a rosary or five a day = 24<x<120) = VERY GRATEFUL AND GOD FEARING cheerleader, if I refer to MyrnaM's comment.

Yea I wasn't all that proud of a D eithe Cherylr but at this point I'm just glad I passed it. If I could do this class over I certainly would.
A whole novena for me? I feel like people are throwing me hundred dollar bills just because I asked for it! I'm serious.
You think I'm smart? I didn't think most people really had much of an opinion of me. I mean that guy that was banned for having 42 people on ignore didn't even put me on his list: I wasn't worth ignoring? Kind of made me feel left out. Probably because I don't post as much as I used to.
Anyway, thanks for the thoughtful post, now I definitely feel like pulling that exam apart.

  • It sounds like you have a great plan there.  Increasing the study time but with a few breaks worked in so as not to reach brain overload, coupled with prayer and reliance on Our Lady, the saints and your angel, should work wonders.  Ask your angel for just a smidgeon of his incredible knowledge and thank God for your angel.

Also, hopefully you have a willing teacher who will be glad to help in any way he/she can.  I always told my kids to study hard, write questions down that you really don't understand to ask the teacher, and last but not least, when you've tried everything else first: Ask your teacher for extra credit.  Of course, extra credit should only be requested after thorough study time has been employed and all assignments turned in.  It's a shame when a student loses points by not getting assignments in on time.  Organization is key.

    You're in my prayers.
