  • Given that blessed sacramentals lose their blessing upon being give to another person, how does this work with a sacramental such as the green scapular? Given that the sacramental is given to unbelievers would the blessing remain provided that you intended on the blessing being for the person you're giving the sacramental to?
I recant many opinions on the crisis in the Church and moral theology that I have espoused on here from at least 2019-2021 don't take my postings from that time as well as 2022 possibly too seriously.

  • That is not true, as far as I know.

The sacramentals lose their blessing once they are sold, not given.

You can't sell blessed water, for instance, since it loses its blessing as soon as it is sold. On the other hand, you can give people blessed water and it will still be blessed.

God likes when his children multiply his blessings by giving blessed items to other people.

You are absolutely correct.  An object does not lose it's blessing when it is freely given to another individual.

  • It’s only if a sacramental is sold that it must be reblessed.  If it is given or passed down, the blessing is retained.
