    • I know that binding prayers have been recommended by independent priests and FSSP also (Fr Ripperger and Fr Wolf specifically) some are simple and some more complicated like one I found online that was a full excorcism prayer that was four pages long. 
    Has anyone had good things come from continuing in these types of prayer? Because I do know that an increase in negative activity can happen for some, but persistence is 'key' they say. 
    Does anyone know what the Church Teaches from Tradition on this? 
    I did have a negative experience myself saying the four page exorcism prayer and my family fell ill by a mysterious illness, flu-like but with fever, scary hallucinations, night terrors and bad dreams that lasted for days then let up, then returned a week later with even worse symptoms than the first (multiple people with uncontrollable nonstop vomiting for days) Inbetween the two illnesses I had asked a priest to come and do an exorcism on my house, then after he did, within two days we were all suffering from the most frightening sickness. 
    We were told by the priest later that it all may have been coincidence. 
    So I was wanting to know if anyone else had similar experience or know someone who has..

    • I have never heard of binding prayers, wonder where they came from. Why not say the St. Michael prayer along with the rosary and nine day novena to the Holy Ghost?

    • I've never heard of "Binding Prayers" either.  When I looked up the exact phrase on Google, I got almost all Protestant websites.  The first website that says that it is a Catholic website has this to say about "Binding Prayers":

    A. 1. The term "Binding prayer" does not find its origin in the Holy Catholic Church. It is a ridiculous new concept (to hook people with the latest fad) that really is a very old concept, just under a different name.

    The practice of "Binding prayers" is associated with those who are involved in the Charismatic movement and who are attempting to perform exorcisms. A "Binding prayer" is an attempt to bind the devil. Any such attempt should be left to a priest (exorcist) who has the authority from his Bishop.

    It is very dangerous for a layperson to attempt exorcisms.

    This appears to be a Novus Ordo affiliated website, but there really weren't many websites that using this term that even claim to be Catholic.  I find it very hard to believe that even the FSSP is actually recommending something like this.

    OP, it's no good - stay away from it - they are probably the reason for your recurring disasters.

    Stick to the rosary and St. Michael prayer - and pray the nine day novena to the Holy Ghost every day. You can add on from there.

    • My husband and I say the prayer every morning:

    August Queen of the Heavens, 
    heavenly sovereign queen of the Angels, 
    Thou who from the beginning 
    received from God 
    the power and the mission to crush the head of Satan, 
    we beseech thee humbly, 
    send thy holy legions so that, 
    under thy command and through thy power, 
    they may pursue the demons,

    curb their audacity and plunge them back into the abyss.

    Oh good and tender Mother,

    This, along with the Rosary, the St Michael prayer and the Hol Ghost novena should work wonders. God bless you and your loved ones.

    • And pray the full version of the St. Michael prayer, not the truncated version we recite after a Low Mass.

    • OP - The title of these prayers is probably accurate as to what they try to accomplish.  Meaning, they perform(or better yet attempt to perform) an exorcism.  But, exorcism is not to be performed by laymen.  So, I second that the prayers and influence of these priests is possibly the reason for your spiritual problems.  I once listened to a Fr. Ripperger conference for like 10 minutes and couldn't shut it off fast enough.  He was talking superstitious nonsense.

    • Thank you so much to all of you for your advice, my question has been answered and I will stick to my daily Rosary, St Michael prayers, and now include that beautiful prayer offered by Nadir..THANK YOU  :pray:
