  • Regard all of my posts as unfounded slander, heresy, theologically specious etc
I accept Church teaching on Implicit Baptism of Desire.
    Francis is Pope.
    NO is a good Mass.
    Not an ironic sig.

  • I like these.  Gives me a look at the other activities of the old nuns.

4 nuns catalogued half a million stars

  • I wish that some of these images were explained, Epiphany, especially this on

Do you, or any one else here, know who these nuns are?

Do you, or any one else here, know who these nuns are?
    Sure Nadir, here you go:
Sisters Emilia Ponzoni, Regina Colombo, Concetta Finardi and Luigia Panceri, were recruited by the Vatican to measure and map stars from plate-glass photographs. They cataloged the brightness and locations of a whopping 481,215 stars during their years of diligent work.

    Any others?

  • Thanks for that information. Interesting. But I was more interested in what congregation they belonged to and have since found that they were of the Sisters of the Holy Child Mary. On their website they say that the European contingent has nuns from France, England and Ireland and no Italians (today).

Any others? Yes, if you post more and know the details please post those brief details.
