Asking for prayers for myself

  • Good evening my kind friends.

Well I am requesting as many prayers that can be spared for me and my recovery due to a terrible tumble I had with the stairs about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I have just today come home from a rehab center and still not able to do much by myself.

What happened you may wonder? Well, my a$$ and gravity met to verify Newton's Law of gravity when I slipped on steps in my home and down I went in 17 steps to the basement. After realizing I survived, I then had to access damage. Well my leg was not in any normal position, specifically my knee. I was alone and my phone and the rescue I needed was UP the stairs. So I had to be inventive and I was-- to hold the leg up while going back up stairs. It was agony, no other word. Luckily I'm in good shape but ....I didn't care. Had to have surgery that day. I had broke my right femur, the tibia, fibula, the ligaments and tendons had been shorn off the patella, as result the kneecap was under my knee. In the end it required total knee reconstruction. Fun, fun, no?

I was simply not in a position to go home after surgery and so off I went to a rehab center, that was a test of patience. Great physical therapy and learning to be non-weight bearing on leg which must remain completely straight for another 3-4 weeks. Got home today and we had realization that I have no idea how to go up stairs without using my butt, LOL. So my husband picked me up and threw me over his shoulder and in the door to the couch. After laughing, I'm really tired. Thought I check in and humbly request prayers for reduction of pain, quick healing and learning patience, which I apparently have very little of.

Thank you so much in advance for your love and prayers.

    Michelle

  • By the time you have read this, a Pater, an Ave and a Gloria on the way to heaven for you from my home. God's speed and every mercy in your recovery.

Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
This evil of heresy spreads itself. The doctrines of godliness are overturned; the rules of the Church are in confusion; the ambition of the unprincipled seizes upon places of authority; and the chief seat [the Papacy] is now openly proposed as a rewar

  • Thank you everyone for your kindness and prayers.

allisvanity thank you for the prayer. I have never heard of it but it is perfect, thank you for sharing.

ora pro me Thank you for asking-to answer your question, prognosis seems to be excellent, it just will be a very slow recovery unfortunately. However, perhaps this is the time in my life God has wished I slow down. He permitted this fall. I've learned a lot about myself, quite a bit I'm not proud of. Such as my lack of patience. Which I thought I had--but I simply do not have have the depth. Or other imperfects that have come to light which I thank God for allowing me to see and work on.

As a result, the prayers given in for my intentions are extremely helpful and I thank everyone on this board. You are very precious to me.

  • I remembered you at Mass this morning.  Since you told us your real name, I have to say that I can just picture your patron saint, powerful St. Michael catching you when you fell and helping you to get back up the stairs to call for help!  I'm sure you are already saying the prayer to St. Michael every day after your rosary.

May St. Michael help you through your recovery!
