Devotion to the Drops of Blood Lost by our Lord Jesus Christ on His Way to Calvary

St. Elizabeth, Queen of Hungary, with St. Matilda and St. Bridget, wishing to know something of the Passion of Jesus Christ, offered fervent and special prayers. upon which Our Lord revealed to them:
To all the faithful who shall recite for 3 years, each day, 2 Our Fathers, 2 Hail Marys and 2 Glory Bes in honor of the drops of Blood I lost, I will concede the following 5 graces:
1st: The plenary indulgence and remittance of your sins.
 2nd: You will be free from the pains of Purgatory.
 3rd: If you should die before completing the said 3 years, for you it will be the same as if you had completed them.
 4th: It will be upon your death the same as if you had shed all your blood for the Holy Faith.
 5th: I will descend from Heaven to take your soul and that of your relatives, until the fourth generation.

Blessed by His Holiness Pope Leo XIII in Rome, April 5, 1890.
Please keep this prayer card with others that you say daily to remind you to recite these prayers.
The thought of saving souls should always be on our mind. St. John Bosco stated it well. "There is nothing more holy in this world than to work for the good of souls, for whose salvation Jesus Christ poured out the last drops of His blood." St. Vincent de Paul tells us that: "The salvation of men and our own are so great a good that they merit to be obtained at any price."
 Sad to say, the great majority of Catholics put forth little or no effort in promoting the greater honor and glory of God and the salvation of souls. Let us keep in mind that if we manage to save one soul, we also ensure the salvation of our own. The Holy Ghost reveals this to us in the Holy Bible. [St. James 5: 19-20]

This little practice gives us a very easy way to save our own soul as well as the ones most dear to us------our family.

Never heard of it before, but, those are some tremendous indulgences

Edit:
Quote
It has been brought to our attention that the indulgences attached to the "Drops of Blood" and "Shoulder Wound" prayers were declared apocryphal in the Acta Sanctae Sedis (Acts of the Holy See), a monthly publication in Rome from 1865 to 1908 which contains principal declarations of the Pope and the Roman congregations. Its contents were declared official and authentic in 1904. Leaflets containing prayers with improper indulgences attributed to them were prohibited altogether.

The complete "Acta Sanctae Sedis" is available on the Vatican website. The specific texts and translation regarding the above mentioned prayers are provided below.

In lieu of this information we will no longer offer the "Drops of Blood" and "Shoulder Wound" prayer cards.

"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof." [Matt. 6:34]

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

"A holy man continueth in wisdom as the sun: but a fool is changed as the moon." [Ecclus. 27:12]

That devotion has been around for many years among the laity, but doesn't seem to ever been adapted by the Sisters of the Precious Blood, which, if it were ligit one would think they would have promoted it.

Thank you DL for the information. Following your link, I also found this:

Also, promises to free one or more souls from Purgatory by the recitation of some prayer are prohibited, e.g. specifying that "1,000" souls will be released by saying the "Prayer of St. Gertrude" (see ASS 32, p. 243 of the "Acta Sanctae Sedis" below). We have revised the Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great card to reflect the approved version of the prayer and the correct reference to the number of souls released which is found in Fr. O'Sullivan's booklet "Read Me or Rue It". We read in this booklet: Our Lord showed St. Gertrude a vast number of souls leaving Purgatory and going to Heaven as a result of this prayer, which the Saint was accustomed to say frequently during the day. The booklet has the "Approval of His Eminence the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon - Cardinal's Palace, Lisbon March 4, 1936”. The following approval attached many times to the Prayer of St. Gertrude is a misprint: "Approval and recommendation (sgd.) M. Cardinal Pahiarca at Lisbon, Portugal, on March 4, 1936" (D. Manuel Gonçalves Cerejeira was Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon from 1929 - 1971).

It's been 5 days since your false accusations and being made aware of your false accusations.

This is directed to Mark79:  Mark79, do you still uphold your belief that Placenta tissue used for joints, is still ok.  I did my research and it still takes a baby to donate placenta tissue and certain gestation ages of baby is better than others.

Mark
79 replied to songbird, that placenta fetal cells injections were ok, for joints.  I disagree, and gave to Mark79 links with articles saying that different stages of of a baby, such as 3 months in womb were best for harvesting and he still said it was ok!

Complete rubbish.

"fetal" = baby

"placental" = afterbirth, not baby

"placenta fetal" is a really stupid oxymoron equivalent to "not baby/baby."

I have never ever anywhere to anyone said harvesting parts from 3 month old babies is acceptable.

I have never ever anywhere to anyone said harvesting placentas from 3 month in utero babies is acceptable. Damaging the placenta at that gestational age would likely damage the baby.

In no way shape or form do I advocate anything remotely as you said.

Even if stem cells harvested at 3 months are "better" (more efficacious medically), the risk to the baby is immoral and unacceptable.

Placental (not baby) stem cells harvested from the afterbirth (not baby) can be harvested without any harm to full-term babies. Doctors used to throw away the afterbirth. Now doctors use the tissues from the afterbirth to good effect—not using only stem cells, but even using amniotic membranes, umbilical cord blood, Wharton's Jelly, stromal tissue, etc.

Reputable tissue banks use only placentas from carefully screened (medically and socially, no diseases, no crack whores) women having repeat C-sections. Though there was a brief period in the 90's when it was trendy to try to have a vaginal delivery after a first C-section, that fad justifiably passed quickly (concern for uterine rupture during vaginal delivery after a previous C-section). Currently the rule of thumb is "once a C-section, always a C-section." Because the second C-section is scheduled, it is much easier to arrange business hours care of the placental tissue than it is for an emergency C-section in the middle of the night.

If you are going to make claims about what I have said, I'd really appreciate it if you'd get it right.

@songbird

I see that you logged in about two hours after I PM'd you and made the post immediately above.  I see that you also logged in within the hour of this post, but not a peep from you.

If I had wrongly accused you, I would have apologized and retracted the accusation within minutes of learning my error.

Essentially you accused me of advocating harvesting of tissue from babies in the womb. I did not, do not, and never will advocate such heinous sin.

Your post makes clear that you did not understand the distinction between what is a baby and what is not a baby (the afterbirth). Your post makes clear that you did not understand the distinction between ante-partun (before birth) and post-partum (after the baby is delivered/born) harvesting of placental (afterbirth, not baby) tissue.

In the future, if you decide you need to accuse me of heinous sin, please be so kind as to confirm the details before you post such damaging accusations.

A practicing Catholic knows what to do after a false public accusation.

Could it be Devotions of the Holy Wounds?  there is also Rosary of the Holy wounds, Chaplet of Mercy.  This is not Divine Mercy which is not correct, but here is some prayers:"O, Jesus, divine Redeemer, be merciful to us and to the whole world." sound familiar?  "Strong God, holy God, immortal God, have mercy  on us and on the whole world".  This "Rosary of the Holy Wounds", established 1867-1868.

You made a false accusation and have neither apologized for nor retracted your false accusation.

Yes I know this devotion.
I pray it every night ... although I did forget to do it on Easter 😕 but hopefully I can make up for it at the end by adding a few days?
I found it in my pieta prayer book
Jesus Meek and humble of heart make my heart like unto thine
