Frances, I understand your opinion, but there have been plenty of times when an ordinary table, even the hood of a military vehicle in wartime, have been used to support an altar.
Bear in mind that the Novus Ordo table is not turned into an altar; there is a special cloth with the relics of saints sewn in that functions as the altar. The table can be just a table, or, as I mentioned above, any flat surface that is not otherwise unsuitable.
Of course, the case could be made that the Novus Ordo table is unsuitable, but at least having the True Mass and True Presence inside a formerly Catholic church building is a benefit.
One way or another, it will all be put right.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, triumph soon!
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
