  • Is it permissible for a young altar boy (approximately 9 years old) to carry the ciborium to the altar without wearing gloves before Holy Mass?

  • It is permissible,  the ciborium is only blessed but not consecrated like the chalice/paten.

  • Gloves wouldn't hurt. But, there is no specific rubric. Regardless, there should be proper reverance.
