  • He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, both are abominable before God.
    Proverbs 17:15

So as a man draws closer to God, and increasingly aligns his mind, thinking and will with God's will, wouldn't his stomach start to turn when he sees and hears people praising wickedness and condemning good people?
    YES!

If we know and love God, we should increasingly love what God loves, and hate what God hates. Sin, especially abominable sins, should turn our stomachs.

And it should drive any friend of God INSANE the degree to which the modern world is calling good "evil" and evil "good", and calling lies "truth" and truth "lies".

And believe me, it did. But if I were to get angry at every injustice of the modern world, I'd never feel anything else. It almost seems like Groundhog Day, getting up each morning to the same stories of madness on repeat, with no end in sight. I find it hard to care anymore, to be honest. Which leads me onto another Bible quote that resonates with me:

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

I think this is more appropriate for Catholics living in 2019:
    Galatians chapter 2
[11] But when Cephas was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. [12] For before that some came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them who were of the circuмcision. [13] And to his dissimulation the rest of the Jєωs consented, so that Barnabas also was led by them into that dissimulation. [14] But when I saw that they walked not uprightly unto the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all: If thou, being a Jєω, livest after the manner of the Gentiles, and not as the Jєωs do, how dost thou compel the Gentiles to live as do the Jєωs? [15] We by nature are Jєωs, and not of the Gentiles sinners.

  • My favorite bible quote for temporal matters is this:

And Jesus saith to them: Why are you fearful, O ye of little faith? Then rising up he commanded the winds, and the sea, and there came a great calm. (Matt 8:28 )

For spiritual matters it is this:

Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I say, rejoice.   Let your modesty be known to all men. The Lord is nigh. (Philippians 4: 4-5)

  • Among my favorite Scripture relating to Our Blessed Mother:

He that hearkeneth to me, shall not be confounded: and they that work by me, shall not sin. They that explain me shall have life everlasting. - Ecclesiasticus 24:30,31

"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

The Highest Principle in the Church: "We are first of all under obedience to God, and only then under obedience to man" - Fr. Hesse

  • Revelation 3:9
Behold, I will make them of the ѕуηαgσgυє of Satan, which say they are Jєωs, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

  • Right now, I enjoy reading:

    Quote
A golden ring in a swine's snout, a woman fair and foolish. ~ Proverbs 11:22

    LOL
Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in array? ~ Canticle of Canticles 6:9

  • Not a favourite but recently discovered in Acts 16:
    [20] And presenting Paul and Silas to the magistrates, they said: These men disturb our city, being Jєωs;
[21] And preach a fashion which it is not lawful for us to receive nor observe, being Romans.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.
