Title: *Prayer request* Prayers for my beloved father
Post by: thecolorandthenoise on September 11, 2006, 12:43:02 PM
Hi all. My dad is going in for a total hip replacement surgery tomorrow (Sept 12) at 2:10 PM EST. He is only 55 and in good health, so there shouldn't be any complications, but I ask for your prayers anyways if you can spare them. My dad has a heart of gold and would help anyone in need (and I love him dearly!). He's also a nominal N.O. Catholic who attends Mass only a few times a year... please pray that he comes to Tradition. That is truly my fondest hope. Thank you dear friends.

P.S.
Does anyone have some good traditional prayers to St Luke the evangelist? That is the patron saint of his hospital (St Luke was also a physician too ). If you do, please post them here. Thank you and God Bless.

I will take this to Our Lady and ask my husband to take it to St. Joseph, his favorite saint.  I don't have any St. Luke prayers, though.

Thank you!

Yes, you have my prayers and I will ask yours as well. My mother is going for hip replacement as well on9/18. As she lives with me and my family I will be taking care of her. She is 64, she had me young as I will be 46 this Nov.

My friends, Dawn and Trinity you have my prayers.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. Update - the surgery was NOT a success. :( He will have to have another procedure up in Boston... please pray for his health and also for my family (and me too... I need strength) in this tough time. Thank you and God bless.

http://earthclinic.com/ Trinity check out this site for your BP. Color I will pray for your dad. I am afraid for my mother as well because she has let her health go, both physical and emotional, and I am afraid because sometimes they do not work. Plus, she says she wants to die on the table. She is half nuts and half drama queen.

Hello my friends, a repost of what I typed up at fisheaters:

"Apparently his hip was so deformed (very rare condition) and it couldnt be picked up on the xray. What was left of his hip simply could not support the new pieces, so he will be having reconscruction surgery to fix it up. His surgery is scheduled for friday. We leave for boston in just a few hours. I ask you all to keep praying if you can.. that this new procedure should do the trick. He's going to one of the finest hospitals in the world (that's going to hurt later on financially! lol) so, they should be able to patch it up no problem.

Since I will be in Boston, if all goes well I plan to attend a Tridentine High Mass at Holy Trinity... this will be my first time at the Traditional Mass in person. So, a quick prayer that I get to attend would also be welcome. Thank you everyone so much for your kindness... I'll check back in next week. God Bless!"

Trinity and Dawn... still praying for both of you. Take care!

Thank you EVERYONE for your prayers. The second surgery in Boston was a complete success. My dad is now home and is doing well. Sorry it took me so long to post an update here, but I just got back late Wednesday night and ever since then there has been so much to do, I haven't had a chance to go online. I am sincerely touched at the response of everyone and I know it was your prayers that made the difference. Thanks again. Looking forward to getting back to posting more here... but it might take awhile to get caught up with everything. Take care and God Bless!

Dawn how is your mother?

Great news. Mom has had her surgery. She is at home and I hope all goes well. She has declined therapy because of her phobias toward people. She says she will do it all by herself. Time will tell. That is just fantastic about your dad. I bet everyone is exhausted, health problems are hard on the loved ones as well.

I'm happy that your mom has had her surgery. No therapy? Wow, seems like that would be tough. I'll pray for her and you.

Thank you for your kind words about my Dad. Yep, we're all exhausted. Just trying to get back into some sense of normalcy now.

Praise God and His Momma.  I am so glad.  It seems like there is so much bad news and evil around, that every bit of wonderful news and blessings is even more precious and uplifting.  God's fingerprints are more desirable than anything.

Amen.
