  • The great Dominican theologian Rev. Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange  answers this question in his great work  The Mother of The Savior and Our Interior Life, Pt. II, ch. vii "The Predestination of St. Joseph and His Eminent Sanctity," (trans. Rev. Father Bernard J. Kelley; Dublin: Golden Eagle Books, Ltd., 1948).
