While cleaning our chapel, I was introduced to a man and his wife, who were donating time and materials to do some maintenance. I attend a Mass serviced by a retired priest, but in a regular diocese. (The chapel was slated to be closed, and the diocesan priest said we could use the chapel, if we found a priest to say the Traditional Mass.) The wife began "chatting". Almost in one breath, she casually mentioned that she and her "husband" are both divorced without annulments. She said one priest told her she could receive communion if she wanted to, so she does. She said that the Church needs to allow for divorce because it's no big deal. On and on she went, criticizing the Church for its silly ways. I was so speechless, all i replied was something useless, such as, "I'm sorry you are in such a horrible situation." This "husband and wife" attend the Traditional Mass, because it's convenient to their house. They donate a lot of time and money, because our altar server asked them to. I told the altar server to be careful accepting so much help, under the circuмstances. The altar server said he will not think about it. I can not tell the priest, either, because he will not care. (While he was ordained in the Old Rite, he is a modernist, and would be angry that I felt he should know.) Do I have any further duties to protect God from this sacrilege?
