There are a few versions out there..is any one better than another? Is this even a good book and consecration or are there some modernist twinges I'm not seeing. I would like the True Catholic stance on this book as l've started to read it for the 4th time and hopefully I can finish it straight through soon.

I had no idea there were more than one. Mine is Titled: True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis De Montfort
There is so much to reflect on when you read the book, right now what comes to my mind is how some people can have a false devotion to Our Lady. It gives detail information about that. Reading made me really take a look at my own devotion to her.
I have come to believe that she is the secret to salvation. Yes Christ the Redeemer, but without Mary, people just seem to wander here and there.

This is the Age of Mary.

I have been told that Fr. Faber's version is the best - the one that TAN sells,or used to sell; now that they've been taken over, who knows anymore?

Yes, that is the one I have. CMRI, might still have them in their gift store.

Has anyone performed the Marian Consecration?
"Yes, that is the one I have. CMRI, might still have them in their gift store. "
it is, right of the Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood CD's, behind the Biography of John Ireland and Fr. Heckler.....

Here is a link to download the full 1863 book by Fr. Faber:
A Treatise on the True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin (http://books.google.com/books/download/A_treatise_on_the_true_devotion_to_the_b.pdf?id=r70CAAAAQAAJ&output=pdf&sig=ACfU3U10obYdK_h0cfRbbS9AtPtGqZJF6Q)
We must understand that Our Lady at Fatima requested we say the Rosary and have devotion to her, which is true devotion itself. The exalted consecration and "holy slavery" was not meant for everyone any more than is joining a Third Order meant for everyone.
St. Louis de Montfort's religous order had a woman's branch, and he was the spiritual director for its foundress. I understand that this sister pleaded with him to allow her to make the consecration, and that he refused permission for some time. It is a contemporary mistake to promote the idea that this holy slavery is for anyone who simply wants to do it, or that everyone should.

I don't know, but if it comes to the consecration, this book here is the best I know of:
Consecration to Mary - (All the readings you need in one place) (http://www.angeluspress.org/oscatalog/item/6713/consecration-to-mary)
It's also just a great spiritual reading book.

I must confess, I laughed. But they are not nearly so far gone as that.
Just to remind you once again, you are named after an ardent fan of the French Revolution.

Thanks for all the replies...appears all systems are go for reading and consecration according to Fr. Faber's version, which is what I had.
And ya , the French Revolution was demonic. :drillsergeant:

Look at the SSPX advertisment in the Angelus Press link for that book, Dulcamara,
"As advertised on EWTN"
Why does the SSPX advertize EWTN?
