This is a good sermon to read during Lent.  If you scruple over salvation, you might not want to read it.  It hits hard!  If you drink booze, grab a shot of whiskey; if you do not drink, put on a stiff pot of coffee.

  • I think that for a person who is neither scrupulous nor lax, this sermon can really help to seek greater holiness. It makes one want to do a lot of prayer and sacrifice for the salvation of souls! In any case, it is better to do too much than not enough.
