  • I have uploaded these articles by the late Solange Hertz.  I first learned of Hertz in the early 1990's.  She was a traditional Catholic and died in Virginia in 2015, at the age of 95.  I am not sure if she was a home-aloner or not.  She was a smart gal; she knew Latin and had studied some Greek.  According to her Wiki page she was the first woman ever offered a scholarship to Georgetown University.  Unfortunately her books are hard to come by, and some of her articles are near impossible to find. A few of her books are on archive.org.  I have uploaded these files to my archive.org. page:

    https://archive.org/details/the-occult-franklin
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solange_Hertz

There are 18 articles, and more to be uploaded.  There are too many PDFs to attach in a single thread.

So I was friends with an older couple who lived in her town (Leesburg, VA) and hosted me a few times when I was on research projects at The Catholic University of America (on behalf of Bishop Sanborn and Fr. Cekada).  They also hosted an elderly Traditional priest on their property, and I believe they all just assisted at his Mass, except at one point the priest, having met Solange Hertz told the couple (and this couple related it to me directly) that they were never to let Solange speak to him ever again.  In any case, some of her stuff is a bit kookie.

When I lived up that way, Leesburg always felt just a bit "off" to me, in a way that's hard to describe.  The LaRouche thing lived very loudly in that town.

Ladislas So I was friends with an older couple who lived in her town (Leesburg, VA) and hosted me a few times when I was on research projects at The Catholic University of America (on behalf of Bishop Sanborn and Fr. Lad, How much of her "stuff" have you read?  I guess, you're saying, we should all cave to the disaffection of an unnamed elderly priest, who surely must have expired by now.

Solange was a genius, whose penetrating intellect and spiritual incites can probably not be fully appreciated by the average 'Joe Traditional.'  This woman, believe me, fired on all eight cylinders.  One of her problems in the minds of some, is, perhaps, that America's Declaration of Independence, her Constitution and her Founding Fathers draw down heavy criticism from her.  She had the audacity to suggest that they were all Satanically influenced.
Lad, I think, at times, that you too are kookie.

  • Here are the other attachments. Yeah, I am half way through her 1959 book of essays, Women, Words, and Wisdom, and I find it an interesting read.  Once again, she read the Office, studied Latin and Greek, and was an early-on fighter against the revolution.  She was not just some slouch writing silly essays in between visits to  Starbucks.

She convinced her husband that she should purchase the works of Tertullian.  She cannot be altogether bad.  How many women read Tertullian?

  • Read enough of a book and you will eventually find something displeasing.  In 1959 Hertz was living in the Philippines with her newly converted husband and children.  A Jehovah Witness came to the door and the following conversation ensued, taken from her book:

"After a half-hour of instructing me, she was amazed to learn that Catholics don't believe only professed Catholics go to heaven.

"'Are you sure?' she asked. 'I've never heard that!' "Oh, absolutely," I said, Then I threw in invincible ignorance, the visible and invisible Church, a short discourse on actual grace, Msgr. Knox, and wound up with the obligation to follow conscience according to St. Thomas - all under the general heading of 'Catholics aren't nearly as stupid as they can look." (p. 130, Women, Words and Wisdom)

I do not know the priest whom Lad referred to, who said of Solange, "Do not let that woman around me again," but perhaps he sensed in her liberalism.  It is a shame that a woman could write so well about some things and then spout this liberal nonsense to a Jehovah Witness.

I have told many Jehovah Witnesses over the years, "Yes, should you persist in your heretical errors you will most assuredly be damned, and you have no excuse because I have told you so."  I always give the JH's my contact information and more than enough website information, but they never get back in contact. I even offer to come and have a discussion with their elders, but never a peep out of them.  I remember Vin Lewis saying one time that he went to the Jehovah Witness hall and knocked on the front door, they would not even open the door.  They knew better!

I can't recall the name of the priest either, as I believe he had died before this elderly couple told me the story, and sadly I forget their names also.  He was a retired doctor and they lived on a beautiful large ranch and horsefarm property in Leesburg VA.  It was an hour drive each way to Catholic U, but it was a gorgeous place.  In any case, they knoew Mrs. Hertz (she too was from Leesburg) and at the same time they let this exiled / cancelled old priest lodge with them (in a separate out building), and the priest never did tell them why he never wanted to see Solange again, but he was adamant and quite irate.  Apart from that incident, he was an incredibly meek and mild-mannered individual, so this reaction shocked the couple, which is why the told me about it.  Evidently they were also close with Father (later Bishop) Fouhy.

Yep, this here is the root cause of Vatican II and only Father Feeney saw it coming AHEAD of time, and with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight the vast majority of Trads do not see it today.  I'm sure that being told you can be saved without being Catholic has resulted in untold numbers of conversions.

So the J Witness understood Catholic teaching better than Hertz.

So Catholics who believe in the dogma EENS that's been defined 3 times are "stupid", eh?

Let me guess that this Jehovah Witness failed to convert to the Catholic Church.

I always found her to be a little "out there", but she was, admittedly, extremely intelligent, and given what she went through with her husband's disappearance and not knowing what happened to him for several years, I'm inclined to cut her some slack.

Yeah, that too was an "OK, uhm, thank you very much, have a nice day" moment for me too.

While she made some good points about the old Satanist Ben Franklin, that's just a bit excessive, as the forces of nature are all created by God.  Obviously electricity is being misused, but then so are many other things.

I would have have thought that it would have had the opposite effect.

But yes, the Rev Leonard Feeney needs to be rehabilitated. I had an AvrillĂ© Dominican upset with me, when I spoke positively of him.
