  • Beautiful prayer to your guardian angel.....

O Holy Angel at my side please go to the Church for me,
please kneel in my place at Holy Mass, where I desire to be,

At offertory in my stead, take all I am and own,
and place it as a sacrifice upon the altar Throne.

At Holy Consecration’s bell adore with Seraph’s love,
My Jesus hidden in the Host, come down from heaven above.

And when the priest Communion takes O bring my Lord to me,
that His sweet Heart may rest on mine, and I His temple be!
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

The Highest Principle in the Church: "We are first of all under obedience to God, and only then under obedience to man" - Fr. Hesse

Then pray for those I dearly love, and those who cause me grief.
That Jesus' Blood my cleanse all hearts, and suffering souls relieve.

And when the priest Communion takes O bring my Lord to me,
that His sweet Heart may rest on mine, and I His temple be!

    Pray that this Sacrifice Divine may mankind's sins efface;
Then bring me Jesus' blessing home...the pledge of every grace.

A beautiful prayer, so needed today when Mass is so hard to find. (A couple stanzas were missed.)

  • Wonderful prayer, thank you Stubborn.

I myself have taken to reciting Fr. Mateo's "Mass of St. John" each morning and evening on days which I can't attend Mass (all days but Sunday), with a spiritual communion.

I made a little "prayer card" (if you can call it that) with the prayers on it too. (attached below)
"Be not therefore solicitous for tomorrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof." [Matt. 6:34]

"In all thy works remember thy last end, and thou shalt never sin." [Ecclus. 7:40]

"A holy man continueth in wisdom as the sun: but a fool is changed as the moon." [Ecclus. 27:12]

  • I'd rather go to Mass and send my Guardian Angel to do my job for me.  He could do 100 years of computer programming in 5 minutes.  In fact, our angels could replace both Windows and Linux in no time flat.  That's how much our intellects pale in comparison to theirs.  St. Isidore the Farmer is one of my favorite saints because his Guardian Angel plowed the fields for him so he could go to Mass.  So far my own Guardian Angel hasn't heeded my request.

I'm sure he's punching overtime just to keep you on the narrow path, as with all of us :laugh1:

Well, I tell him that he wouldn't have to work as hard if I could go to daily Mass to receive more grace from the Sacraments.  I've tried spinning it a few different ways, but he's not buying it.  So, the next best thing is in fact as Stubborn suggested.  Of course, if he leaves my side even for a few minutes to assist at Mass, I'd be in big trouble.

  • If you suddenly see incredibly brilliant posts putting an end to the FE controversy once and for all in about three sentences, that'll be my Guardian Angel posting on CI for me.  Or settling the SV vs. R&R controversy that has consumed hundreds of pages here, or the EENS / BoD issue.

Man if we could just have our Guardian Angels post... The site would be a much more charitable and pleasant site to be on
Regard all of my posts as unfounded slander, heresy, theologically specious etc
I accept Church teaching on Implicit Baptism of Desire.
    Francis is Pope.
    NO is a good Mass.
    Not an ironic sig.

I just wish I could borrow his intellectual intuition at times when I need to understand something

If harm comes to any of us may that embolden the faithful to speak out all the more so Catholics are not deceived.

  • I have heard about this before but I’m a bit scared to send my Guardian away, thinking I’d be toast quickly.  Ever this day be at my side ...

Given how many people have willingly given themselves over to the devil and the world, the demons don’t waste their efforts on these.  You can be sure that every Traditional Catholic has a legion of them around, hovering in close proximity, trying to bring him down.  We all need to pray the 15 decades daily.  Our Lady said it would be our last weapon in this final battle.  I’m sure that Our Lady clears them out from around those devoted to her Rosary. Traditional Catholics and their families are under all-out diabolical assault.

I've come across other versions, but this is the version we learned as a child and prayed on days when we did not go to Mass.
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

Absolutely. The devil doesn't need to worry about those he already has, all his efforts go towards those who are trying.

But as my mom told us, "do you think your angel goes to Mass and can't keep one eye on what you're doing too?"
    ha ha, fond memories...
