  • If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • This English version is an adaptation/abridgment, whose scholastic format has somewhat been modernized. Is last part on defending mystical phenomena against rationalists' criticism has been really gutted compared to the better, unabridged Spanish (4ª and last ed.) original.

Apparently, Fr. Garrigou-Lagrange, O.P., said this work is even better than his Three Ages of the Interior Life.

See also the True Restoration Radio series based on this book (audio).
